Taking the Trust Fall to the next level

This is (a fast forward version of...) my favourite sequence from our little act we put together in the last months.
Untraditional transitions, handstands, (back-)bends and learning to really trust - it has all my favourites 🤸🌼

So thankful I met these amazing people who not only introduced me to acrobatics but also had the patience to practice with a complete beginner. I learned so many new skills and can't wait to play again once I'm back ☺️💕

One epic trick of our little trio act we practiced during the last months. 💕💕
I am so glad I got to meet the right people at the right time who introduced me to this amazing, playful sport 🤸 and were brave enough to practice these tricks with a complete beginner like me 😊 the last months wouldn't have been the same without acro(people!). Multiple crash's, falls and bruises included 😇

When the yogi meets the acrobat ☺️

As you may have noticed, I am a big fan of backbends. I love the energizing energy that makes me feel both powerful and humbled at once. And of course they are great for strengethening the back muscles, opening the front side of the body, the shoulders and hips and counteract our sedentary lifestyle.
Meaning unhurt in Sanskrit , the heart chakra-"Anahata", emotionally is connected to friendship, love, and compassion, both to others and ourselves 🥰☀️💪

And that is what I love about doing acrobatics: working in a team with friends, understanding, helping each other and literally lifting each other up. I am so thankful for all my teachers and all that I have learned in the last months since picking up acrobatics. And I can't wait to see where this journey is going to! 🤸

Yoga must not be practices to control the body; it's the opposite, it must bring freedom to the body, all the freedom it needs - Vanda Scaravelli

So many days, we feel the pressure on what we should do, how we should look like and even what we should feel. Yoga is exactly the opposite, it invites us to take the time to stop, breath and truly be in the moment, acknowledging the moment as (im)perfect as it might be. Personally, that is the most important lesson i learned during my yoga practice, to literally give myself the space and time to breath. And how that could look like can be super individual. Some people like to meditate, some like to go for walks, i love a strong, sweaty vinyasa flow to let go of all of my thoughts and truly be present in the moment. Or, like here, soaring high, watching the sun set.

That is one of the best things of yoga; so many ways and styles exist and places to practice, that there is a something for everyone.

Take some time to listen to yourself today 💝💝

Some days seem even brighter than others. Even if it is a typical endlessly rainy grey day in the Netherlands. Those days I feel like opening up and spreading even more love around me, literally trying to hug the world. 🌻
Yesterday was such a day, and to top it off I was left an unexpected cute note and once again noticed how lucky I am to have my friends in my life ❤ ❤

Perfect expression for this of course is this low lunge variation, that includes heart opening toward the sky, hip opening and smelling my own feet 🤪

Go call a friend, smile at a stranger, share a coffee, a tea, anything, give a (corona-proof) hug, seize the moment, spread the love and pay it forward.

Who else got some summer feelings over the last week? Spring and like this go for me hand in hand, the ability to open up again, giving and receiving at the same time.

One year ago, it was impossible to turn my shoulder, not even talking about reaching with the other hand. Today, I am almost there. So as usual, yoga keeps reminding me how important it is to tend to and nurture what I care for, let it be friendships, love, happiness, yoga, or anything else that is important to me, and trust that with time, things will open up. 💖🌸

In rainy weeks like this, I felt the need to brighten up the days ❤☀️❤
Treating the soul is at least as important as treating your body or mind. For some, this means a long bath, good food, music, .., I personally like to reconnect with nature in any way. 🌸
And what else could be as uplifting as these beautiful , organically and locally produced in Germany? I just could not resist to gift them and send some love to some amazing people 🌸🌻❤

So don't forget to reconnect with yourself, check on your friends and family and never forget to dance in the sun, wearing (wild) flowers in your hair 😊

The sun 🌞 is out and so are Yoga🧘‍♀️ classes!💖
From the 3rd of March on, we can offer real-life Yoga classes again, outside! Because of the current rules, only people aged 26 and younger are allowed to join in person, but of course the classes will be streamed online as well, so even if you can't be at the class in person, take your yoga mat, phone/laptop outside and stream the classes in the sunshine! 🌸🌻🌸

I will be teaching Tuesday and Thursday evenings (17:30-18:15) and Saturday mornings (10-11), but also check out the schedule for all classes available!

This is the happy face you make when the 🌞 sun is out, it is weekend and you are finally back practicing all you forgot within the last months of lockdown of the sport you just recently fell in love with 💕💕

How much I missed this feeling of height, swirling 🤸, adrenaline and beautiful people around me. Monkey business is back (hopefully) 🐒

After 2 weeks of and working each day outside to prune olive trees in the beautiful , I am back to and happy to be back on the mat with you 💞🕉️

Join me for some playful, activating flows that will not only build strength but also the ability to release , relax and reset your body and mind. This pose ( ) embodies the exact balance of these said things, as it shows shiva in the endless dance of destruction and recreation, and needs strength & focus but also the ability to release, play and enjoy yourself at the same time. So next saturday will be all about this pose ☺️

I am teaching Tuesday and Thursday evening a 45 min flow more based on core, and Saturday mornings a 60 min flow into the weekend, all (online until studios are open again).

Turns out, even though I still can't hold a straight line, in actually works pretty well 💪🤸

Grappig toch, dat je zo tegen bewegen op kan zien en het moeilijk is om jezelf ertoe te zetten... MAAR... als je eenmaal bezig bent en de hele dag daarna voel je je HEEEEEEERLIJK!!!

Dus maak een uurtje vrij tussen al het thuiszitten door en doe mee met één van onze HELE FIJNE lessen!

Morgenochtend 10.00- 11.00 uur geeft Wiebke een GEWELDIGE flow (engels gesproken) vanuit haar thuisland, Duitsland!

Gewoon thuis te volgen :)

Super excited to announce my new 45min Strong Core classes starting next week (online until the 19th of January) 🔥😍🔥

While of course it's nice to show off some abs, a strong core is so much more than just that! It'll help to prevent injuries, stabilize your lower back, improve balance, stability, your posture and coordination ☺️☺️

Backbends work deeply into your nervous system, stimulate blood flow and are great to improve your posture (especially after a week working on the computer!) Perks of having a flexible back? Resting in seemingly awkward positions on the wall. 🧘🤭
And of course less back pain, freedom to move and easier access to backbends and heart openers and so many more... 💪 😍

One little downside: I never really trained my shoulder flexibility... 🤸🤸
Great to open your heart to new possibilities, open and stretch your chest after a long day behind the desk and great to build up back muscles!

If you feel like moving, I'm teaching three classes a week , every Thursday even a special flow dedicated to inversions! 🤸🙏🤸

So listen to your body and try to find something that is fun for your mind and you body. 🤡

What better to do on your birthday🥳 than have a second day of having fun with areal silks? 😍😍 and even better, outside, with cake and surrounded by beautiful people ❤️🙏❤️

Its still more about trying, so nothing professional, but definitely learning such much every time! I'm slowly starting to trust the silks, and almost comfortable being upside down. Dropping is still super scary. But fuuuuuun 😊😊😊

First time trying out silks yesterday - and totally falling in love with it. 😍😍

Just came back from handstand practice with some friends which is always so much fun 🤸🤸

I hope you all started well into your weekend and have something planned to treat yourself! 😊
Even if you have to do things on the weekend, be sure to take enough time for yourself and your friends/family, spend some time outside and get moving! 🌄🤗

Do Yoga in the sunshine, dance or mix both, like I do in this picture. Always remember, it is not about archiving one pose, but much more about what you learn on the way there and being able to have fun doing it 💃

🌼Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart. – Khalil Gibran 🙏

What I really like about the picture is how it reflects the need for both darkness and light for us to shine. And that light, or happiness, is always there, if we choose to see it and accept the shadow to be a vital part of it.

While this is not a 'proper' yoga pose, it reveals the idea of rather being in the present in the process than concentrating on the aesthetics or achieving the 'full' pose. The idea of creating light from the inside out.
I hope, you all can create some light(ness) in today ❤️ 🌞❤️ go out and play 🤸

Even though this pose requires strength and power, it gives you the same back in return, making you feel alive and strong. 💃
This pose opens up your front body (and heart chakra! ❤️❤️) , strengthens your backside and make your spine more flexible.

It tones and strengthens 💪muscles in the back and calves, and can relieve tension and stress if you sit in front of a computer for a long time.

Try to keep both your knees and elbows hugging towards the middle which will open the lower back.
As it is an advanced pose, please be careful or modify if needed!
And do not try to touch your toe to hand at first 😜
