Slade is 15 months old . He was born with a Horseshoe kidney. He is now Stage III Neuroblastoma.

Slade had his appointment for labs and scans yesterday. We are waiting on results from both!

Due to this UMR insurance fiasco his doctor called and offered to move his appointment up 13 days early! They ended up squeezing him in before November 1st!

07/04/2025

Slade had his CT scan with contrast today. He was actually wanting to go into the "Buzz Lightyear machine".
This time was a little different. The new protocol has him drinking a bottle of juice by certain time frames (He had a total of 1 hour to have it all done). Slade of course drank the whole bottle in 10 minutes. He still had the contrast (2 pokes) but he did it all!

We did not see the Oncologist today, that appointment got moved to another day.

Update!
On January 7- Slade had his ultrasound and blood work.
Ultrasound showed no evidence of recurrent tumor🙏🏻

On January 11- Slade turned 5 YEARS OLD!!!!

Can you believe it?! Time flew!

💙 Our next CT Scan with dye, blood work and meeting with the doctor is in April 💙

Good morning warriors!

Slade got his scans back
✨NO EVIDENCE OF TUMOR✨

• His lungs show opacities which could be from a viral sickness (they aren't entirely sure), so we are watching that closely by doing night time Albuterol treatments. In the scan impressions it was recommended to do a short term CT scan. I will update on that when we know more.

HORSESHOE KIDNEY:
Known horseshoe kidney with stable pelvocaliectasis of the left renal moiety.

💛CT Scans & Blood work 💛

Slade got 3 pokes today!

He went to the gift shop after and picked a doctor kit then called himself "Dr.Slade".

We should know the results of the scans this week.

BIG DAY FOR SUPER SLADE🎉

We officially have a Preschooler.
He is so ready to be around other kids his age and we know he will get lots of help with speech(he is also a huge copy cat at the moment).

When he got in the car he said " I made friends"🥹💙

Please pray for him and us.
As his parents we are nervous other kids might not understand him due to his speech delays. He is use to his sister and family completely deciphering his words.

We go for scans in early October.

Crushed my speech evaluation🫶🏼 ✔️

1-2 weeks until we get my official paperwork so I can start speech therapy at another location.

Believe it or not he has come such a long way!

World Kidney Day - March 14

When I was pregnant with Slade they were monitoring him every week in the 3rd trimester. He was showing fluid in his kidneys.

Fast forward to after he was born (Jan 11)

He had his 1st catheter at 1 month old.

Following the catheter and ultrasound he
was diagnosed with Bilateral Hydronephrosis. He has since had multiple catheters.

Since his abdomen was so tiny it wasn't until he was 6 months old that they were able to start seeing on ultrasound that he most likely had a Kidney Anomaly.

Shortly BEFORE his 1st Birthday the doctors told us "He has a Horseshoe Kidney + Bilateral Hydronephrosis".

* A Horseshoe kidney can occur in about 1 in 500 children*

AFTER his 1st Birthday he was officially diagnosed with a Horseshoe Kidney with Neuroblastoma - "extremely rare".

Hearing test👂🏻 I PASSED!

They said the pressure in one of his ears was not reading after a certain point but it could be from congestion (he wasn't feeling good at all over the weekend).

He picked his outfit today🙂 Spiderman attire from head to toe!

Next appointment will be for Speech TBD

We also have his 4 year old well visit on Friday🎉

Spider Slade is NEGATIVE FOR CANCER🎉 let us celebrate warriors!🎗💛

He goes for a hearing test on Monday then reevaluated for Speech to see how far he has come.

*The opacities mentioned in his left lower lung could be from past sickness..his oncologist is NOT worried, but we will continue to monitor it*

A view into Slade's Hospital routine!

I find myself reflecting on the beginning of this journey and how far he has come. The strength of our 4 year old leaves us in awe.

He was sooooo excited to go into the CT machine.. he calls it the "Buzz Space ship"!

Next stop, waiting on his labs to come in and for the doctor to visit. (Both today).

*He got 2 pokes today...and he says he got a "Boo-daid"*
