What Is Your Daily Self-Care Routine...Do You Even Have One

I am hearing a lot of buzz around prioritizing “self-care” these days...but what does that *actually* look like

I see a lot of these posts accompanied by pictures of spa days, massages and facials...but self-care is not all about pedicures, yoga mats and affirmations.

It’s important to practice DAILY self-care.

For some...self-care might mean making sure they take a shower or eat breakfast.

For others...it might mean drinking more water or even making their bed in the morning.

It might mean setting some stricter boundaries on time..or getting some help with family responsibilities so you can go shopping.

Self-care is going to look different for everyone.

Don’t get caught up in the “nice idea” of it.

Think about what you must have/do to be your best on a daily basis.

Then make it a priority.

Ask for what you need and expect it…

Because when you get what you need...everything and everyone you give yourself to in a day will also benefit…

Symptoms You May Think Are Unrelated But Are All Associated with Stubborn Menopause Weight Gain

Western medicine has grouped health and well being into nice neat categories that exist in isolation from each other. When people are struggling with their well being they go see the appropriate experts to help them with their symptoms…

A rheumatologist for their pain issues…a dermatologist because their hair is falling out...and a psychologist because they are depressed.

The problem with this approach is that none of these experts are talking to each other or getting to the potential root cause of all of these problems. They are simply patching the symptoms they are trained to patch...and they patch with medications… it’s like trying to finish a puzzle when they don’t have all the pieces. Also, nutrition is not even a part of their training, so they are not trained to look at nutrition as the foundation for healing our bodies.

That is why my approach to address stubborn menopause fat loss is so unique. I recognize that the symptoms may be connected and we work together to fix the underlying cause vs. treating the symptoms…

My Story

Hi, I'm Catherine a Certified Ketogenic Lifestyle Coach and founder & creator of Even Better After 50! You may remember me from my Almost Raw Vegan days (2011-2017), where I inspired thousands of men & women to improve their health & wellness by following my whole food, plant-based 'almost raw' vegan approach, enjoying my recipes and online training programs.

While my philosophy in nutrition and health has not changed since my Almost Raw Vegan days - I continue to promote a diet that is nutrient-dense with lots of raw living foods - and I continue to promote my 'almost raw' approach. Using my Certification as a Keto Coach combined with my Certification in Plant-Based Nutrition, I have now simply refined and tweaked my previous approach by marrying the ‘almost raw’ with ‘healthy keto’ into an even healthier keto approach that incorporates lots of nutrient-dense, low-inflammation & quality foods designed to heal from the inside out and make us breeze through “the change” so that we look & feel better than you EVER imagined possible!

Why did refine & tweak my approach, you ask?

Well in one word "menopause".
