Our sassy, bright Kenz this day is for you! Beaniez for Kenz Day will be an annual fundraiser raising awareness around brain cancer.

Our local Cowra schools will come together to honour and commemorate the incredibly strong, courageous and resilient little girl Makenzie was and the positive impact she has had on her friends, teachers and wider Cowra community.

Mulligrubbers, we can’t wait to see your beanies!

It's with a heavy heart to say that our princess warrior lost her battle last night peacefully in our arms with her family by her side.
she fought hard right till the end unfortunately the last three weeks had challenged her with a battle no one could ever win.
Our family would like to thank everyone for the ongoing care and support over the past 3 years and it truly did make a difference.
This Lil girl had such a huge heart and with her sassy attitude made a positive impact on so many people.
We will always love you kenz and never forget you and will never be able to repair the massive kenzy shaped hole left in our lives.
Forever in our hearts.

Please have Makenzie in your thoughts an prays 🙏

Our Sunday was unimaginable ❤️‍🩹😔

Kenz was fine and talking one minute..............
Unresponsive the next after grabbing her head yelling in pain that she had a headache.!!!!!

Very grateful the Ambulance got to Koorawatha very quickly, they got kenz stable enough to get her to cowra hospital, then got her to Sydney by helicopter.
We found out Makenzie had a bleed on the brain.
Makenzie went into surgery to try fix the aneurysm that caused the bleed.
Many many life threatening risks
But she made it through the surgery, the team were able to put coils into the aneurysm to help stop it from bleeding again. Makenzie has been heavily serdated since. They are slowly stopping some sedation medications to try wake Makenzie up to see how she is and hopefully our babygirl doesn't have any damage from the bleed 🙏 🙏
So far she is doing good slowly responding by squeezing our hand an moving her head to answer yes or no to questions. Kenz is having a little trouble breathing on her own without the tube but they are slowly making her better.
Poor kenz has a long way to go. She is so brave

No photos it's devastating to see ourselves 😔

Thankyou for loving our babygirl 💗
She needs you all to get through this & so do we ❤️‍🩹

Makenzie has recovered well from surgery, that well that she got discharged on Tuesday.🥰
Kenz has even returned to physiotherapy and done so well, even surprised herself by standing and moving a few steps. Makenzie hasn't walked since September so you can imagine there was some dust in the air! 💜

Bone Marrow Transplant is cancelled for now.!!! 😑
As we found out the fusarium fungus is still hanging around kenz needs more time to get rid of it completely before transplant can happen.
We don't know how long that will be 🤷‍♀️
We are waiting & hoping her cancer doesn't come back before we can get her to transplant.

So from now until then we are travelling backwards and forwards from Sydney an home 🏡 🙂

Look forward to getting kenz out an about 🤩

💪

Biospy Results are in

NO Cancer Cells 🎗🤩💃 Such a Relief ❤️‍🩹
Legions in brain & spine are inflammation!
The Fusarium fungus was found in the vp shunt.
We are so relieved that the gcsf injections kenz had to boost her counts up found the fusarium still in her brain before we went into Transplant.
We are unsure if there is still some hiding 🤔
We are hoping to see BMT team this week to see when it's safest to go into transplant or what's the plan far as we know it's been delayed once again!

Day 5 after surgery and just look at this Warrior 🦸‍♀️
Still in lots of pain to move but she's a little trooper 👩‍🦽
Gate pass today to Ronald McDonald House & also got to see her smelly Big Brothers 💚💙💜

Makenzie spent 4 and a half hours in surgery yesterday arvo having the lumbar drain removed her VP Shunt replaced and a biopsy of a legion that was found during a MRI in the c6 vertebrae which involved removing part of the bone to be able to access the legion attached inside of the vertebrae.
Once again it's a waiting game for results to find out if is infection or disease both of which will mean another delay in transplant which was so close.
Kenz is doing clinically well but in pain and is feeling pretty down which is understandable.
She has now had more surgeries on her head and spine than she has had Birthdays.
