GET UP AND WALK MORE🚶‍♂️⁣

Walking can truly make a huge difference to your fitness process if you’re able to implement it to your daily routine.⁣

How fat loss generally works is moving more and eating less, and walking really can be a great way to add more activity and burn more calories. What’s great about walking is that you can burn calories without developing much of an appetite afterwards, unlike other exercises/activities.⁣

Walking can also be a huge boost in the mental side of things as well, as it allows you to clear your head and be with your thoughts and simply de-stress.⁣

To stay in shape, we need to live somewhat of an active lifestyle. By adding walking to your daily activities, you’re automatically adopting a move active lifestyle. This is even more important if you live a sedentary lifestyle and have job that requires very little movement.⁣

Now this doesn’t mean you have to start walking 10’000 steps a day to stay lean. Try starting small. Try using the stairs instead of the elevator or try walking anytime you have the chance to do so. Doing a bit every day will eventually add up.⁣

We all know that certain foods are better for us than others, and when you see this list there is a big chance that a few will not surprise you. 😱⠀

But even when it just comes to vegetables and fruits, you have a hierarchy when it comes to nutrition. Don't get me wrong all fruits and veggies are good, but some may be just a little better. 🍎⠀

This does not mean that, that should be your main focus. Just focus on consuming fruits and veggies overall! 🥗⠀

But other foods are really healthy as well like olives, salmon and eggs. These are packed with healthy fats and are super good for you! 🐠⠀

Carbohydrates can also be healthy, even tho they have a bad reputation. They are good for you as long as you make smart choices. 🤔⠀

Great options are potatoes, whole wheat bread and pasta, and brown rice. Packed with fiber and nutrients! 🙌🏾⠀

💥LOSING FAT BUT NOT WEIGHT?!💥

🙄Probably one the top 3 questions people ask me in the DM is “Dennis, I can’t seem to lose weight.. My body changes but my weight doesn’t seem to budge…"

My response is this situation most of the time is: “So your body is changing, you’re losing fat but you’re not losing weight? Why would you care about your weight when you’re losing fat?!”
-
But let’s dive a little deeper into it. What are the reasons you’re losing fat but not weight?
-
First, you probably gained some muscle mass because you started weight training seriously. If you’re gaining muscle mass, you’re going to gain some weight. Awesome weight!! Muscles!!
-
Water retention is a big one, eating more sodium and or more carbs in a day than usual will cause your body to hold on to water. But heck, who cares about water weight? I certainly don’t and you shouldn’t too!

You ate later at night than usual. This means you’re getting a distorted view on the scale the next morning because there’s still food in your stomach. You shouldn’t care about that because it’s food. It’s not bodyfat.

And lastly, you might need to take a dump. Go take a s**t and step on the scale again. Boom 1-2-3 lbs lost. Nobody cares about that weight.

Main take-away of this post: The scale is a good progress measurement tool, if you know how to use it. Unfortunately most people don’t know how to use it. You now know.

Intermittent fasting may slightly boost metabolism while helping you eat fewer calories. It’s a very effective way to lose weight and belly fat.

By planning your workouts first thing in the morning, you are less likely to have work, family or scheduling conflicts that could prevent you from making it to the gym. Morning workouts also help to create a consistent routine that can also lead to better sleeping habits. If you know you're getting up early to hit the gym, you'll be more likely to get to bed at a decent time.⁣⁣⠀

🌙 Evenings: Exercising in the evening can be an awesome way to relieve stress after a long day. Most people typically have fewer time constraints in the evening, which means you don't have to rush through your workout. Working out in the evening also means you have a bit more time to sleep in if that's something you prefer.⁣⁣⠀

Foil Pack Chicken And Rainbow Veggies

📝 Ingredients (for 4 servings)
VEGETABLES
* 1 red onion, diced
* 2 cups broccoli florets(300 g)
* 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
* 2 cups baby carrots(240 g)
* 1 ½ cups cherry tomatoes(300 g)
* 3 tablespoons olive oil
* salt, to taste
* pepper, to taste
* 10 sprigs fresh thyme
* 3 cloves garlic
CHICKEN
* 4 chickens
* olive oil
* salt, to taste
* pepper, to taste
* 1 pinch paprika
* 4 sprigs fresh thyme
* 4 cloves garlic
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
* 2 baking trays
* aluminum foil

👩‍🍳 Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 400°F/200˚C.

2. Place red onion, broccoli, yellow bell pepper, baby carrots, and cherry tomatoes evenly on a baking tray. (Try not to let the vegetables overlap too much so they roast properly.)

3. Season with olive oil, salt, and pepper (to taste).
4. Add sprigs of thyme and garlic clove halves on top of the vegetables.

5. Tear off four pieces of aluminum foil, approximately 12 in x 12 in (30 x 30 cm).

6. Lay down the foil and place the chicken breast in the center for each one.

7. Season both sides of the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika (all to taste).

8. Add sprigs of thyme and garlic clove on top of each chicken breast.

9. Bring the top and bottom edge of the foil into the center and fold a couple of times. Fold in the left and right sides a couple of times to seal the foil pack.

10. Place all 4 chicken foil packs on a baking tray.
11. Bake for 30 minutes.

12. Enjoy!

For example, greens, like broccoli 🥦 contain plenty of folate, manganese, potassium, vitamins and the protein in broccoli also includes all the essential amino acids.
