Teacher? Office worker? Cyclists? Student? Sofa surfer? 😄 These are just a few examples but what do they have in common? 🤔
They all encourage a rounded curvature of the spine. Of course we want some curvature in the spine, but we want to avoid excessive kyphosis in the Thoracic (rounded upper back).
Here is a simple towel exercise you can do to help with posture and spinal health. This exercise can be uncomfortable if you have been stuck in the rounded posture but that is completely normal.
How to do the towel exercise..
1. Find a medium sized towel and roll it up tight.
2. Place it on the floor around your mid back. Position will vary with everyone so please send me a message for more advice on this.
3.Slowly lower yourself back on to the towel until your upper body & head rests on the ground
4. Bring your legs up and breathe, relax into this position.
5.Start with 2-3 minutes on the towel & when this become too easy increase by 1 minute repeating this process until you reach 20 mins. (do not rush increasing the time)🤗
6. When coming off the towel roll to your side and push your self up.
If you have any other questions ease send me a message 📩 Give it a go and let me know how you get on 🤗

🌟Muscle Tension 🌟
On a day to day basis I get ask the same question... “so what actually makes my muscles tight” 🤔
There are so many variables that can increase muscles tension and it will differ from person to person👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏽👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏾
I have highlighted just a few factors that affect muscle tension which are easy to adapt to helping decrease the build up of muscle tension in every day life
This is such a broad but important topic, so many people go through life with muscles tension and do not do anything about it. So when you are feeling restricted or tense do something about it 💆🏻‍♀️

🌟VITAMINS & tips 🌟
With everything going on right now it’s important not to panic and control what we can control. So I’ve put together some info and tips about how we can boost our immune system.. .
Vitamins should be a key part of our daily diet and ideally from natural sources! However there are a lot of vitamins our body needs to perform at its best, so I’ve named just three that can help boost your immune system! .
At the minute it is so important to take care of our selves and help support our immune system so that it can help defend us when we need it. Don’t get me wrong, this is always important to consider but now more than ever! .
As well as increasing vitamins there are a few other things we can do to help boost our health and immune system... .
1. NUTRITION: Eat well, decrease the processed foods and increase the veggies & fruits, helping you get some of those vitamins.🥦🍊. .
2. SLEEP: Make more of an effort to get the 7.5 hours recommended sleep! Your body needs sleep to do all the amazing things it does for you and help you for the following day! 💤. .
3. EXERCISE : With every thing going on at the minute a lot of people are forgetting to keep active or scared to keep active. But exercise is only going to boost your immune system & keep you healthy! So get outside in the fresh air, if it’s for a walk, run, to play football just keep moving 🏃🏾‍♀️ .
But most importantly... WASH YOUR HANDS. 🖐🏽 be sensible, don’t panic, control what you can! .

For many of us a lot of things have changed over the last few weeks, working from home, not as active as normal and full of a mixture of emotions. .
I struggle with not being able to go out when I please or socialise with friends & colleagues which does affect my mood. But it also helped me realise how important it is to stay positive and move as much as I can whilst being restricted. .
🏡Working from home... you are going to have a different set up to what you are use to at your office. This is most likely going to give you a few aches and pains & most likely mean you are going to spend more time slouched back in your comfy chair (which isn’t great for your posture) 🌟So build yourself a 2 min stretch/move routine that you can do throughout your daily routine! .
🌪You will probably experience a mixture of a emotions from happy, positive & motivated to stressed, lonely, sad. And that is ok! But why not try realising some ‘happy’ hormones to get you going for the day. 🌟As hard as it may be some mornings push yourself to get up & start your day with a 20-30 mins workout before you get going for the rest of your day. This will get you blood pumping & hormones flowing giving you the boost you need. There are so many tutorials online to help with this so mix it up, one day cardio, one day strength, one day HIIT.. But keep it fun! .
🕺🏼Being restricted time our homes naturally means we are not moving as much as usual. But your spine loves movement so please don’t deprive it of that! It’s easy to binge watch a series on Netflix & there is nothing wrong with that but try and get up every now and then. Prolonged sitting will stiffen up our joints and we will lose movement, along with posture getting worse. 🌟I have series I am catching up on too, so I have been doing a stretching/mobility session whilst watching one episode which gets my bum of the sofa for a little longer and makes me feel much better! .
But times are tough remember to keep in touch with your loved ones 💗

🌟Mobility sequence 🌟
Since the lock down no doubt we have all taken running up a bit more than we usually would... & most likely, a majority of us do not warm up properly before hand.
So here is a 3 min sequence that will help get you moving and activate/stretch the muscles you need for running 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️
The video is sped up so please take your time when doing the exercises 🤗
