Teacher? Office worker? Cyclists? Student? Sofa surfer? 😄 These are just a few examples but what do they have in common? 🤔
They all encourage a rounded curvature of the spine. Of course we want some curvature in the spine, but we want to avoid excessive kyphosis in the Thoracic (rounded upper back).
Here is a simple towel exercise you can do to help with posture and spinal health. This exercise can be uncomfortable if you have been stuck in the rounded posture but that is completely normal.
How to do the towel exercise..
1. Find a medium sized towel and roll it up tight.
2. Place it on the floor around your mid back. Position will vary with everyone so please send me a message for more advice on this.
3.Slowly lower yourself back on to the towel until your upper body & head rests on the ground
4. Bring your legs up and breathe, relax into this position.
5.Start with 2-3 minutes on the towel & when this become too easy increase by 1 minute repeating this process until you reach 20 mins. (do not rush increasing the time)🤗
6. When coming off the towel roll to your side and push your self up.
If you have any other questions ease send me a message 📩 Give it a go and let me know how you get on 🤗
