“Your body speaks your mind” Deb Shapiro

Reflexology can help you reach a state of deep relaxation and therefore reduce the effect stress has on you. When in this state you begin to release muscle tension and so your circulation and nerve function improves, and you begin to balance your body systems.

What benefits have you experienced reflexology?

There are so many benefits to reflexology. These are some my personal favourites 🦋

“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness” Amy Collette

It’s Monday. AGAIN 🙄 How did that happen? Whilst we all prepare ourselves for the week ahead I thought it might be nice to start by talking about gratitude.

Let’s be honest. Life is pretty cray cray right now 🥴 (can I hear a chorus of “I hear ya!”?). And with another lockdown looming it’s no wonder negative thought processes creep in from time to time. But there’s always something to be grateful for - even if you have to dig really, REALLY deep to find it.

So let’s think about gratitude again, why it’s important and how reflexology may be able help. Gratitude can:

❤️ Support your mindfulness practice by increasing present-moment awareness

🧡 Decrease stress and anxiety

💜 Increase patience

🤎 Enhance physical wellbeing

💛 Increase happiness

💚 Improve self-esteem and self-compassion..... Speaking of which, please stop beating yourself up with shoulda, coulda, wouldas....... life is hard enough without self criticism
💙 Improve mental and emotional wellbeing

🖤 Improve our relationships and enhance communication

When we reflect that reflexology helps restore balance to our physical, emotional and mental state, you can start to see how it may be an enabler for gratitude 💞

And so I’ll leave you with this challenge. At the end of your day, take some time to stop and consider what you are grateful for and fill in the blanks in the picture. Oh, and don’t forget to tag, message or call the people you are thankful for. You never know how much they may need to hear that today ❤️🧡💜🤎💛💚💙🖤

Namaste 🙏🏼

How are you feeling about today’s rule changes?

I hear a lot of you saying that you’re overwhelmed, anxious and stressed. Add that to changes in routine (back to school, starting school, changing expectations at work and general uncertainty), it’s no wonder your brains feel fried 🤯

What if you were to write all your thoughts on balloons and let them float away into the distance? Just close your eyes for a moment and imagine that in your mind’s eye 🎈 ⛅️ Do you feel lighter? Less burdened? Something else entirely?

Reflexology is a wonderful tool which can aid relaxation and give you a bit of to let go of negative thoughts which may be weighing you down or stopping you achieving your goals.

I’m having lots of fun combining mindfulness and reflexology with the right essential oils and I’m astounded by the results 🥰 All these wonderful natural aids at our finger tips...... Time to start putting them to good use ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

September is the start of Autumn 🍂 and I’ve seen so many of you referring to this as a feeling of new beginnings and fresh starts. What a wonderful time of year to celebrate this absolutely fabulous touch therapy ❤️

You know that feeling where you just can’t switch off at night?

You know the one I mean. Where you clamber into bed but just can’t stop those pesky thoughts running round your head. Thoughts about anything. Everything. Nothing! Are you thinking or is this just me? ☺️

Well, that’s been me for a while now but for the last couple of nights I’ve been rubbing a few drops of this little beauty Stress Away onto my right big toe and I couldn’t even tell you what I was dreaming about. Thank you cedarwood, result 🙌 next question.... to diffuse or not to diffuse? 🤔 decisions decisions 😃

Just like reflexology, everyone responds differently to essential oils because guess what? We’re all unique!

What helps you switch off at night? I know what I’ll be doing 🌱 🙌

Thanks to for letting me

I absolutely love this, and although it’s written for a specific purpose, if you change the stimulus in step 1 you could apply it to any situation. What resonates with you?

The thing to remember about thoughts is they are just that. Just because you have them it doesn’t make them fact 💕

Regular mindfulness practice can help you start to notice your thoughts and observe them with gentle curiosity and without judgement. From there you can take control by learning to respond, rather than react 💜❤️🧡💛💚💙

Give it a go. You’ve got this 💪🏼 💚

Why should the kids get all the fun?!

I bet if you’re really honest with yourself you used to love getting new stationery at the start of the school year.... and if you’re even more honest you still love getting new stationery now 📚 ✏️ 🙌 look how beautiful my new appointment diary is 😍🤣

So there you have it. My 🤣 what’s yours?

Thank you to everyone who voted in my poll “car or spa?”

I asked if you were to buy a reflexology voucher, would you want the reflexologist to go to them (car experience) or vice versa (spa experience).

The results were 50/50... literally! Although much to my surprise “car” was leading the way until the final moments! I can honestly say I expected it to be 💯 spa and 0 car. Just goes to show you shouldn’t make assumptions! You’ve definitely given me food for thought.

And I’m case you were wondering, the second emoji is “spa”.... apparently! Maybe we need our glasses 🤓 to appreciate that one ☝️🤣

Reflexology is like reading a map of the body. It never ceases to amaze to me 🙌🙋🏻‍♀️ it has both physiological and psychological benefits but better than that, it’s a unique experience for everyone because we’re all unique. There’s another good reason to celebrate our differences 🤩💕💙💛💚🧡💜

I don’t know about you but this really resonates with me 🌊 ☀️ 🌈

I’m constantly telling my 3 year old daughter to take a deep breath and stay calm. She’s starting saying “mummy if I stay calm it’s better.” Perhaps the tables are turning and I can follow her lead 🙌🥳❤️🤗

Did you know?
And here comes the award for captain obvious...... Breathing is important! When we get stressed the body tenses and our breathing becomes shallower. As our breath becomes shallower, oxygen levels in the blood decrease and our brains identify this as stress. In response our breathing becomes quicker and shallower still, and oxygen levels fall even more. When this happens the heart begins to race and the brain senses more stress which can lead to poor decision making. If you start to recognize that you are feeling stressed or anxious, or that your breathing has changed take a moment to take a nice, slow, deep breath.

Breathing “gently” stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which in turn stimulates the flow of soothing hormones through the body. Any negative thoughts, feelings or emotions begin to calm and so your breathing slows down and you begin to relax. It’s no coincidence that women in labour are told to focus on their breathing... not only can it help manage pain, it also helps keep them calm.

Such a simple tip but when you feel anxiety creeping in try to focus on slow and steady breaths and you’ll notice the difference

Reflexology is a non-invasive touch therapy based on the principle that there are reflex zones traditionally in the feet (but also hands, face and ears) which are linked to specific parts of the body by energy pathways. One of the most common questions I get asked is "what exactly is reflexology?"

Simply put, it is a non-invasive touch therapy based on the principle that there are reflex zones in the feet which are linked to specific parts of the body by energy pathways.

Reflexologists apply pressure of varying degrees to the feet in order to stimulate movement of energy along these pathways and to help restore balance to the body, which may have been disrupted for a number of reasons such as stress or injury. Reflexology can also an effective tool to promote deep relaxation and well-being. Get in touch to find out more or book your session :-)

Hi, I'm Rachael 🙂

I started to develop an interest in wellness (healthy body and mind) when I returned to work after having my beautiful daughter and struggled to balance the demands of a challenging career with everyday life. Since then I have trained as a mindfulness teacher and reflexologist and have never looked back.

Thanks for popping by, I will be talking all things mindfulness and reflexology related and what they can do to improve your wellness.

I am based within Kent and currently offer a mobile service in West Kingsdown and surrounding areas.

Don't forget to check in regularly for top tips and special offers. I can't wait to share them with you 🙂
