Health-related candy concerns ⚠️🍭🍬

Sour candies: These treats contain high levels of acid and sugar, which can erode tooth enamel and lead to cavities. The intense acidity can also irritate the mouth and stomach lining.

Excessive sugar intake: Binging on candy can lead to a blood sugar spike followed by a crash, causing hyperactivity and irritability. Limiting the number of treats can help manage this.

Choking hazards: For young children, avoid hard, round, and chewy candies that pose a choking risk. This includes small hard candies, lollipops, caramels, and gum.

Allergens: If your child has a food allergy, meticulously read the ingredient list on every package. The Teal Pumpkin Project encourages offering non-food treats for children with allergies.

Opened treats: Always review packages and make sure not to consume opened treats as they can be contaminated or tampered with.
