IT'S GIVEAWAY TIME AGAIN!!!!!

Anyone following this page will know that I had to pull out of meeting Katie Taylor recently due to being at the Stripe Young Scientist finals!!! But they did send me two signed gloves so I'm going to give away one of them!!!

Killing two birds with the one stone!!! Dad and I taking Neil for his 2 hour Saturday walk, and I get a 5km run done in the middle of it!! And to top it off, it's actually a nice day!!!! 😊

So 'The Battle of the Ages' with Bernard Gloster is over!! Firstly, I have to tell you the huge drama that happened immediately afterwards - an unbelievable storm dramatically started and blew me into Penneys against my wishes!!! And every time I tried to leave, the storm kept shoving me back in there!! I really am such a victim!!!!! 😂

Anyway to the big meeting!! First item on the agenda - The HSE chief is taking my Stripe Young Scientist project on autism & vaccines misinformation really seriously!!
He's sending it to the relevant Ministers, the Chief Medical Officer of the Dept of Health, and to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, who advise the Government.
So we'll definitely see some action to tackle the vaccine misinformation that's out there. I'm absolutely thrilled that my hard work in a different health area will now get to help many others!!

Second item on the list - the Assessments of Needs crisis. He took on board my concerns that the last recruitment campaign wasn't visual enough and will now brief the Secretary General of the Dept of Health to ensure that this Spring's recruitment campaign does way better.
The good news is that the last recruitment campaign that I convinced him to run, will have the new therapists from that starting on February the 9th, so that was great to hear.
I also asked him to consider an emergency action plan at that point to deal with the 20,000 children rotting on waiting lists, once those new therapists start, and he said that he will consider it.
If I'm totally honest, I've always found Bernard Gloster extremely honest and always open to ideas. So let's see what happens, and hope that the huge numbers start coming down dramatically. If they don't, I'll be back in the biggest way possible again!!!

Now you'll have to excuse me as I check to see if that huge storm outside has passed or whether I need to spend more time in the shops!!!! 🤣 Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone!!!

Really struggled with flu today, but I'm pushing through it😬 Just finished a radio interview with Newstalk for their news segments tomorrow, about 'The Battle of the Ages' - my big meeting with HSE chief Bernard Gloster!! The HSE aren't where they need to be on the AON national crisis, so let's see if I can push them a little bit again. If Storm Bram couldn't stop me last December, then there's no way that a bit of flu will!! So let's get ready to rumble!!!!

BREAKING NEWS!!!! 'The Battle of The Ages' is officially on!!!!!

I've secured a huge meeting with HSE chief Bernard Gloster for this Friday to discuss my national advocacy campaign & my project about vaccine misinformation that I was highly commended for at the Stripe Young Scientist finals!!!
I know that Bernard is the odds-on favourite, but his left jab isn't what it once was!! Also, he doesn't have the same knockout ratio as when he was young!!
And the big question is, will he have an answer for my swift footwork, tricky somersaults & ninja moves - I don't think so!!! 🤣
Let 'THE BATTLE OF THE AGES' commence!!!!

So I got the bad news today that I've been officially diagnosed with 'Study Derangement Syndrome' (self-diagnosed of course!!!😆), a terrible illness that stops me from studying for my mock junior cycle exams in 2 weeks time!!! The only known cure is to spend loads of time shopping in Penneys, so I'd better do whatever Dr. Cara says will help me to get better!!! 🤣

The favourite part of my day is when I get photos of my amazing brother Neil doing so well with his new school resources!! His horse-riding is going brilliantly and his teacher is thrilled with him!! Thank God that we pushed so hard for all of this for him!! Go Neil!!!! 💙💛

We have a big birthday in the Darmody household today!!! Happy 3rd birthday to our amazing doggy Crumble!!! He's simply the best, and is the kindest friend to my brothers!! I can't stress how important an autism assistance dog is for my brothers, so thanks a million billion to Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland!!! I can't wait for the party later!!! 😁

VOLUNTEER URGENTLY REQUIRED!!!
Needed to do my 15 days of study before Monday fortnight's junior cycle mock exams!! Only a measly 5 hours of study a day to do!! And you'll then need to sit one or two exams for me (ok the full truth, it's actually 8!!!). The candidate will need to look a little like me (in order to get away with this stunt!!), and will need to assume the name 'Cara Darmody' for the next 3 weeks!!
I'm expecting thousands to volunteer, so get in quick - this is the chance of a lifetime!!!!! 🤣

I'm getting a lot of private messages asking how I got on with meeting Katie Taylor at her big event in Killarney a week ago.
Unfortunately in life, things don't always go your way, and I got a big reminder of that last week.
Because of getting a wildcard to the Stripe Young Scientist finals, I coudn't be in two places at once, so I had to make a call on it.
Katie Taylor is the only person I've ever hero worshipped outside of my parents so it was a huge disappointment to miss last Friday week's event.
My parents also spent huge money last September on the v.i.p tickets for the event as it was my birthday present, so I feel so sorry for them, even though they say it didn't matter.
I think the lesson here is that, even though it's often nobody's fault, sometimes things just don't go your way in this life. And that's the way the cookie crumbles!!
Anyway, it's the perfect time to take a day off everything, go shopping & to the cinema with my pals for the evening!!
And who knows, maybe someday the irresistible force will meet the immovable object!!! 😊

OH NOOO!!!! - it's the evening that every teenager dreads - it's parent / teacher meeting evening!!!!!!!!! 😬
I was never one for name dropping but I told my Dad to make sure and get in that these two gentlemen in the photos with me said I was doing a great job and that I'm a brilliant young student!!! 🤣
And with the week that's in it with the Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition finals, at least I'll have Ms. O'Leary in my corner!!! 😂
Fingers crossed that it all goes well!!!! 🤞
