I still fall into the busyness trap.

I make a goal to be more productive but I don’t define what that looks like and I end up being busy but not productive.

I have found having a plan, setting time limits for focused work, and using a tracker to note my work has helped the most.

What helps you be productive but not busy?

Mental Health Matters: Supporting Fraternity Brothers Through Challenges and Growth

Join this program as we explore the unique mental health struggles faced by college men in the United States and Canada. From adjustment disorders to societal pressures of masculinity, we’ll delve into common stressors and barriers to seeking help, while also uncovering intervention strategies and resources to foster a culture of care on college campuses. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical tools, participants will gain insights into destigmatizing mental illness, promoting open conversations, and accessing professional support. By the end of the program, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to support the mental health and well-being of college men, contributing to healthier and more inclusive campus communities.

Drawing the Line: Setting Boundaries and Navigating Burnout

As college students, navigating academic and social pressures can often leave you feeling overwhelmed and burnt out. This session addresses these challenges head-on by emphasizing the importance of establishing and communicating boundaries effectively. “Drawing the Line” will introduce a practical model to help students identify their non-negotiable needs and hold themselves and others accountable to these expectations. By learning to set clear boundaries, participants can mitigate the risk of burnout and foster a resilient mindset. Through interactive discussions and practical tools, you will gain the skills needed to maintain healthier relationships and lifestyles.

Embracing Burnout

A More Resilient Approach to Mental Wellness

Stress is a pervasive issue within professional environments, and its consequences can be detrimental to individuals’ careers. The possibility of burnout looms large, adversely affecting employee’s capacity to thrive in their professional/personal pursuits. Manifesting as extreme fatigue and apathy, burnout takes a toll on people’s mental well-being. Recognizing the urgency of this matter, Dr. Kate Steiner has developed a program aimed at addressing the burnout epidemic among professionals.

Dr. Kate’s program introduces audiences to a self-reflective process designed to formulate personalized sustainability and wellness plans. The emphasis is on acknowledging the significant impact that burnout has on people’s lives and overall happiness. Rather than promoting a quest for balance, this program focuses on creating a plan that enables audience members to monitor their wellness, anticipate burnout events, and recover in a manner tailored to their individual needs. By participating in this program, participants not only cultivate greater resilience but also establish a proactive approach to addressing burnout events in their lives.

As a result of this program, audience members will learn:

Comprehensive Understanding of Burnout: Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the concept of burnout, recognizing its manifestations, causes, and the potential impact it can have on their career and personal lives.

Personalized Wellness Planning: Participants will learn to engage in a self-reflective process to create personalized sustainability and wellness plans. This includes identifying factors that influence their well-being, establishing strategies to observe and maintain their wellness, and developing a proactive approach to anticipate and address burnout events.

Resilience Building: Participants will develop practical skills and strategies to enhance their resilience. This involves learning how to navigate the challenges of career and personal life, preparing for potential burnout events, and cultivating a proactive mindset that fosters both mental health and professional success.

Let’s talk feelings.

I can often get stuck in naming my feelings at the most basic level - happy, sad, angry

And I’ve found it I think just a little deeper in identifying my exact feeling like elated, hurt, disappointed, jealous; I am able to work with that feeling in my body easier and in a way that helps me shift from more negative feelings to either a neutral space and more positive space.

I’ve found the scaling the intensity of my feelings helps me with my reaction that comes from my feelings and thoughts.
