🌿 The TCM Approach to Spring Wellness: Balance Your Liver, Refresh Your Spirit 🌿

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), spring is associated with the Wood element, which governs the Liver and Gallbladder. These organs play a vital role in detoxification, emotional balance, and the smooth flow of Qi (energy) throughout the body.

When the Liver is out of balance, you may experience:

*Fatigue or low energy

*Irritability, frustration, or mood swings

*Muscle tension or headaches

*Digestive issues like bloating or constipation

Here’s how TCM can help you thrive this spring:

1️⃣ Acupuncture for Liver Qi Stagnation:
Acupuncture helps release blocked Qi, reduce stress, and restore balance to the Liver and Gallbladder meridians. It’s especially helpful for relieving tension, improving digestion, and calming emotions.

2️⃣ Herbal Medicine for Detoxification:
Custom herbal formulas can support your Liver’s natural detox process, boost energy, and promote emotional well-being. Popular spring herbs include dandelion root, chrysanthemum, and milk thistle.

3️⃣ Lifestyle Tips for Spring Wellness:

*Eat leafy greens and sour foods (like lemon or vinegar) to support Liver health.

*Practice gentle movements like yoga or tai chi to promote Qi flow.

*Spend time in nature to connect with the energy of spring.

🌸 Why Spring is the Perfect Time for a Detox (According to TCM) 🌸

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), spring is the season of renewal and rebirth. It’s the ideal time to cleanse your body, boost your energy, and prepare for the year ahead. Here’s why:

🌱 Spring is Linked to the Liver and Gallbladder
In TCM, spring is associated with the Liver and Gallbladder meridians, which govern detoxification and the smooth flow of energy (Qi) in the body. When these systems are balanced, you feel energized, focused, and emotionally calm.

🌱 Detoxing Supports Your Liver
The Liver is responsible for filtering toxins and regulating emotions like stress and frustration. A spring detox helps clear stagnation, improve circulation, and promote emotional well-being.

🌱 Seasonal Eating for Detox
TCM recommends eating fresh, green, and slightly sour foods in spring to support the Liver. Think leafy greens, sprouts, lemons, and herbs like dandelion and milk thistle.

🌱 Acupuncture Enhances Detox
Acupuncture can stimulate the Liver and Gallbladder meridians, helping your body naturally eliminate toxins and restore balance.

Stop the pain and book an acupuncture appointment for knee osteoarthritis now 🙌

Knee osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis that is commonly found in middle-aged and elderly people. It is a chronic and degenerative joint disease. This disease is referred to as degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease due to the breakdown of joint cartilage and adjacent bones.

The most common symptoms:
*Joint pain
*Stiffness in the joints, particularly after a period of rest or inactivity
*As the condition deteriorates, the ability to move the joints gradually decreases
*As osteoarthritis progresses, the joints may produce a creaking sound due to the loss of cartilage
*Joint locking

According to modern evidence-based medicine research, acupuncture treatment has been found to be effective in treating knee osteoarthritis. Acupuncture can help to increase the metabolism of cartilage and reduce the absorption of inflammatory substances. It can also inhibit the production of harmful substances in the synovial tissue, such as matrix metalloproteinase-3, transform growth factor-β, Interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α, and excessive nitric oxide. By doing so, acupuncture helps improve knee joint function and provides a therapeutic effect for knee osteoarthritis patients.

It is advisable to consider acupuncture as a treatment option before deciding on surgical intervention.

Acupuncture can adjust Yin and Yang. Improve the Immune system.
Can acupuncture help high blood pressure?
Acupuncture and herbal medicine can reconcile yin and yang and improve the immune system, that is, increase the body's ability to repair and adjust so that the body can heal itself and the disease will disappear.

Acupuncture treatment is extensive and can be applied to various departments of internal medicine, gynecology, and pediatrics. In addition, it is easy to operate and has remarkable effects on many diseases.

Since the 1980s, the World Health Organization has announced the dominant diseases treated by acupuncture because of its simplicity and effectiveness. In 1996, the World Health Organization proposed three categories of 64 acupuncture indications at the Milan meeting, including hypertension.

Acupuncture has an excellent antihypertensive effect, and combined with antihypertensive medication treatment, it can effectively improve symptoms. However, patients taking antihypertensive drugs for a long time should not stop the medicine suddenly during the acupuncture treatment. Instead, they must wait until the blood pressure drops or is close to normal. Then, the subjective symptoms are improved or disappear. Medication amount can be adjusted slowly with the guidance of a doctor.

🍀Diabetes risk rises after COVID.🍀

A large US study published estimated that anyone with a positive covid-19 test has about a 40 percent higher chance of developing any diabetes in the following year compared with uninfected people. A similar German study found an increased risk for type 2 diabetes of 28 percent over about four months.

There are about 29 million people in the U.S. with type 2. Even if you modify your lifestyle and take your medicine as directed, your blood sugar may worsen.

Lifestyle
Changing lifestyle is essential for patients who want to manage diabetes.
*Exercise
*Eat healthily
*Manage stress
*Stop smoking

Acupuncture
The principle of acupuncture is to use stimulating acupoints to regulate Qi and blood in the whole body. Proper fasting and postprandial blood sugar regulation can better control the balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves, normalize the body's blood sugar regulation, and improve insulin resistance.

Under the condition that the primary treatment of diabetic patients remains unchanged, acupuncture therapy can be applied to the early and middle stages of type 2 diabetes to help regulate and control blood sugar. It can also be used in the late stage of diabetes to improve the peripheral circulation of diabetic patients. Delaying the occurrence of diabetic complications can improve the quality of life of patients and prolong the survival period of patients. Acupuncture therapy provides a new method and new idea for helping type 2 diabetes and provides a safe, effective treatment method for diabetic patients.

🍀Abnormal Presentation🍀
Why do some fetuses turn their heads down automatically when they reach the middle and late stages, but some don't?

From the perspective of Chinese medicine, the fetal position is due to the deficiency of qi and blood in the mother's body. After the amniotic fluid
reduction, the scope of fetal movement will also be reduced, which naturally reduces the chance of fetal head descent. Western medicine usually determines the fetal position at 36 weeks, while Chinese medicine adjusts the body according to the fetal position at around 28 weeks.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that fetal position is both qi and blood deficiencies. Therefore, various treatments are based on tonify qi and blood.

When to balance?
Best on 28-34 weeks, not more than 36 weeks. After 36 weeks may be a lower chance of adjusting the fetus's position.

Acupuncture: the purpose of acupuncture to correct fetal position is to adjust the patient's qi and blood so that the blocked meridians can flow smoothly, and the qi and blood will flow smoothly so that the fetus will naturally turn its head down and enter the mother's pelvis for delivery.

Herbal medicine: a way to regulate qi, blood and liver, and kidney meridian.

People with generally stable pregnancies can use Chinese medicine for malposition, but if there is an easy miscarriage, early contractions and other unstable conditions are not recommended.

Acupuncture to prevent miscarriage and abnormal fetal position has become one of the significant trends of natural therapy. The main reason it is popular is that it has few side effects, is convenient and easy to use, and regulates the physique of pregnant women. In addition, it can also effectively shorten the delivery time and ease pain during reduction.
Some studies have shown that during the process of acupuncture, the increase in the secretion of adrenal cortex hormones in patients increases the activity of the uterus, and the movement of the fetus, especially the latter two, are the main factors that help the fetus turn normal.

🎯Parkinson's disease🎯 Studies have shown that the average onset of Parkinson's disease is about 60 years old, among which the most common disease occurs in people aged 50 to 60, less in people under 40, and more men than women.

With the aging of the social population, the prevalence of Parkinson's disease is increasing yearly. The condition is not fatal and generally does not affect life expectancy, but it dramatically reduces patients' quality of life.

Parkinson's disease cannot be cured medically, early diagnosis is challenging, and there is often a medical history of more than five years when it is discovered. Many people think that Parkinson's disease is trembling hands and body stiffness. However, this is only part of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Many patients do not have handshaking but slow movement. Due to the lack of obvious early signs, it is easy to miss and misdiagnose and delay treatment.

Parkinson's disease has an unknown cause, slow onset, progressive aggravation, and poor prognosis. Patients often have problems such as smell disturbance, long-term constipation, restless hands and feet after falling asleep, yelling, falling, frequent urination, depression, and cognitive decline. These non-motor symptoms are early warning signs of Parkinson's disease. The lesions of Parkinson's disease are in the brain, specifically, the substantia nigra region of the brain, where nerve cells synthesize the neurotransmitter dopamine, which regulates human motor function. With age, nerve cells gradually age. Under the influence of some internal and external environmental factors, some people's nerve cells that synthesize dopamine degenerate progressively or die, and the amount of dopamine synthesized in the brain decreases, which cannot maintain the routine work of regulating motor nerves, and symptoms of movement disorders will appear.

The primary purpose of acupuncture treatment for Parkinson's patients is to

1 Improve the symptoms based on controlling the symptoms. For example, acupoints can enhance blood circulation in the brain, or non-motor symptoms, such as tremors, constipation, dysuria, fatigue, pain, and insomnia.

2 Reduce the adverse reactions of Western medicine: nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, insomnia, and depression.

3 Delaying the course of the disease.

4 Enhance the patient's physical fitness and improve the quality of life.

Fatigue is a normal physiological reaction. When the human body undergoes strenuous activities or stress, it will temporarily feel tired. However, as long as it takes a proper rest, it can recover in a short time.
