Move for Your Mood 🏃‍♀️

This morning was a wet one 🌧️ but worth it — I ran longer and easier than I have in a while.

But the morning didn’t start that way…

⏰ Alarm went off at 6am.
🛏️ My brain: “Just stay in bed.”

It took me until 7:30 to get myself out the door.

I ll be honest a lot of the time it’s a struggle but I know that getting outside first thing in the morning is one of the best things you can do to start your day well.

It boosts serotonin, sets the tone for the day, and even helps you sleep better at night.

By the time I came back, I felt a lot. lighter,more in control , and proud of myself. A small but powerful win.💪🧠

You don’t have to run. You just need to find your own “move for your mood”
✨ Walk
✨ Dance in your kitchen
✨ Stretch
✨ Swim
✨ Hike
✨ Even just a lap around the block.

Your body, your mood,you choose 💕

✨ 👇 A little update from me… 👇 ✨

My business has been on a bit of a journey 🌱 and it’s finally time for a name that really fits where I’m at now — in life and in business.

I started out as Simple Steps Hypnotherapy 🌀 but over time I’ve grown into doing more than just helping people manage stress.

👉 I’m now almost accredited in Belief Coding® — a powerful way to shift the negative beliefs that hold us back from being the happiest version of ourselves.💫

👉 In September I’ll be starting to train in Advanced Belief Coding® + Masters facilitator training too. 🙌

👉 And along the way, I’ve found the simple things that make me feel happier day to day ☀️ — and this business has become about sharing those things with others too ❤️

So… I’ve changed the name to Simply Happy ✨

Because that’s what it’s all about: feeling lighter, calmer & happier — in simple, doable ways. ☺️

This morning I met with my 16-year-old self and then we went for a run.

Today I sat with 16-year-old me, the part of me that was stuck, trapped in old heavy emotions.

Her world and her parents had fallen apart once again, emotionally abandoned her.

Her mum had moved to Scotland after an affair that ended her parents’ relationship , taking her beautiful sister with her.

The relationship already over a long time before but this felt like too much abandonment to process - being left behind while life moved on without her.

She was alone, trying to navigate teenage life, not able to make sense of the world, feeling lost, unloved and unimportant. In her mind she just didn’t matter.

She didn’t know how to fix it or make herself feel better , she couldn’t even feel at all.

At 48, that 16-year-old me has still been there some days longing to be seen and heard.

Some days I wake up feeling those same feelings but just knowing that where I am in my life now they don’t make sense.

So I sat with her and took myself through a Belief coding®️ session so I could finally give her what she needs.

So she can be free to know the power that she was, that what happened in that time wasn’t about her.

Belief Coding®️ has helped me do this so much - to reach those parts of me that have felt stuck or unseen or unheard.

I was able to remind her of who she was - the strength and the courage that would become hers. And she reminded me of how far I have come.

Then I took that shame and pain and turned it into fuel, put on my shoes, put on my music and ran to remind myself of who I am yet to become.

Sometimes the most powerful healing comes from turning toward the parts of ourselves that have been waiting patiently in the shadows, carrying wounds that shaped us.

Today I honored that brave 16-year-old who survived it all, and I finally set her free.

They’re not sleeping properly. 😴

Some can’t fall asleep.😣

Others wake up in the night and their minds won’t switch off. 🌀

Most wake up feeling like they’ve had no rest at all – and the day hasn’t even started yet. 🌅

Sometimes, you don’t realise how heavy things have been… until you let them go.🎈

Taking the first step can feel scary — but you always feel better once you do.

Can I be honest for a minute?

I’m not great at showing up on social media.
Not because I don’t care — but because half the time, I don’t know what I’m meant to say.
It fries my brain, sends me into overthinking mode, and leaves me doubting myself.
And honestly? That just fills my stress bucket 🪣

But what I’ve realised is this:

Sometimes it’s not you that’s the problem.
It’s the things you’re doing because you think you should.
Because someone said that’s how success works.
Because it’s what’s expected.

But what if those very things are what’s feeding your anxiety?

What would life feel like if you stopped trying to follow someone else’s rulebook,
and just started doing more of you?

Because here’s what I do know I’m good at:

Helping people feel better in themselves.
Helping them understand and manage their stress buckets.
Helping them reconnect with who they are underneath the pressure, the panic, the overthinking.

So no, I might not post every day.
But when I’m with my clients, I’m fully there.
And if you’re feeling lost or wound up or just not quite yourself lately — I want you to know:

You don’t need fixing.
You just need a way back to you.
That’s the work I do and for me it changed everything. You deserve to have more of you too.

To quote the wise words of Ronan Keating…
“Life is a rollercoaster, you’ve just got to ride it.” 🎢😂

Honestly, I used to hold on for dear life when the dips came.

White knuckles, tense muscles,eyes closed. Holding my breath. (I actually used to hold my breath when I had a panic attack because it felt like the only thing I could control in my life.)

Just waiting for what was coming next. 😬😮‍💨

But you know what?
Holding on tighter didn’t stop the dips.
It just made the ride more exhausting.

Now, I take a different approach.
Breathe. Loosen my grip.
Remind myself that it’s just a dip, not a disaster. I m not going to die. It’s not the end of the world.🫣

Life’s still got its ups and downs (it always will),
but it feels more like an adventure now…
not something I’m just trying to get through.

One dip at a time.

Oh, and I do Belief Coding too.
(Helps a lot with the stressful scary bits.)

I remember my first hypnotherapy session… 🫣
Honestly, I had no idea what to expect.
🫣 What was going to happen?
🫣 Would I know what they were doing?
🫣 Would I say something stupid?
🫣 Would I do something stupid?
🫣 Would I spill secrets I didn’t want to share?
🫣 Would I lose control and end up making weird animal noises, never to be the same again? 🐓🤣

Spoiler alert: None of that happened.

Instead, I found something that helped me overcome years of anxiety, panic attacks, and low mood.

Now…
👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 My relationships are better.
😌 I have more patience (especially with my kids and husband).
😁 I feel calmer, more in control of my emotions.
😴 I sleep better.
🚗 And I’m a fully confident driver.
✨ Most importantly, I feel like me again.

But doing something new is scary.
Your primitive brain loves to flash up all the worst-case scenarios. 😳
