I have debated what to share about life lately. The crazy of the holidays. But this video is such a win. I decided it was time to get into real talk. Navigating life with chronic illness and child with chronic illness. If you have been around for a while you probably know I have had thyroid issues for 20+ years and you may have even caught I have psoriatic arthritis and Lyme sent my immune system into quite the tizzy. But as a woman in her late 40’s the hormones were the final straw. Weight gain. Workouts that hurt which eventually lead to a real mental health struggle. So around my birthday (October) I talked to about nutrition and trying to get my inflammation and chronic pain managed. I take 3 different meds to help with the pain. I took a medical leave from .glenville (I miss my peeps) and follow a plan that had me kind of start over. Walk, yoga, lots of fruits and veggies. Over the the holidays. During the last 3 months I have lost the 15 pounds I gained during my Lyme/ psoriatic arthritis journey. But my mental health settled down. I have been able to lift weights over my head for the first time in 3.5 years. My knees don’t hurt. My new puppy has me outside. I got on skis for the first time in 30 years. But this picture. In the snow an cold- last winter would have hurt for days. This year I try to do it twice a day. I haven’t been able to tolerate cold temperatures for at least 5 years. Michelle helped me get my body back but more importantly she helped me get my life back. Working with her helped me relearn what life can be like. I will get back to metabolic when my body doesn’t get cranky after weights. Until then I am trying all the classes . I forgot how much fun getting healthy can be. So this video is my reminder that even at 48 and chronic illness you can find a new beginning.
