Ruby Nakogee, a special needs parent and member of Fort Albany First Nation. Her role as indigenous advocate is to bring awareness to the huge system gaps that currently exist with the lack of access to Indigenous Autism support services for First Nation children youth and adults in James Bay region. She is a board member of Canadian Autism Alliance Canada and sits with Parent Support Network through NAN. Through her lived experience raising a child with special needs, she'll explore her worldviews and traditional practices that support families raising a child with autism.
This session offers practical strategies for educators, parents, caregivers, and service providers to create more inclusive within their systems.
