Hi fellow instructors. I just got a call from a first time mom (Charnae) in Bedford. She has called, emailed and texted down the list from AAHCC without getting any response!

Is anyone teaching that would be closer to her than my classes
in Garland? I am happy to include her in my March class but
she'll have to travel 45 min each way for my classes.

Hi - do any of you do Virtual classes? I have a request from a couple in Arkansas who can't find a Bradley Instructor in 100 miles>

For $264. in 8 classes I looked into this online course and it looks really good - very similar attitudes about birth as Bradley Method.

I was a tiny bit offended by their confirming that couples wouldn't be exposed to 'instructors with perms and grainy VHS videos' - It sounds as though the rest of us don't keep up and use modern, evidence based information - which is not true...but I did like the program.

The Left Occiput Anterior position has the reputation of being the best fetal position. But is it? LOA is just one of the best positions to help the baby be in the smallest diameter to fit the pelvis. The LOA baby’s back is on the birth giver’s left side, and faces towards their back.

A good fetal position aims the baby’s crown onto the cervix to help it open more easily and to allow for labor to progress more smoothly. When babies start labor with the back of the head towards the anterior (front), less rotation is required to happen. Rotation plays a very important role in birth.

The ideal, or optimal, fetal position is a flexed baby. A flexed baby can use their spine, back and shoulder muscles to help themselves be born. Flexed baby’s bodies are lined up to make their kicks at the top of the womb (fundus) be more effective in moving them down through the pelvis.
