12-8-2022 PROBLEMS ACCESSING AND DAMAGE TO LISAROW CEMETERY
I started to try to get vehicle access to the Lisarow Cemetery from about November 2018 to 9th March, its now 2022 and still locked out i like someone to help me on this
2021.Since I have been on this journey, graves have been damaged including my mothers', the one next to my mother also damaged and headstones damaged and missing. I have video and photographs to document all that I say.
The NSW Roads closed off Dora Street entrance to the Cemetery, then a wooden gate was closed at Ourimbah Street entrance with a sign saying “No Pedestrian Access”. I had a
meeting with the Wyoming Anglican Church about fixing the road as it was very rough and the car was scraping on rocks. They told me they did not want the Cemetery, that it was pushed onto
them and to get in touch with the Diocese of Newcastle. I got in touch with Charles Murray who was going to come down to look at the road. He has my email address, home address and home
phone to be able to contact me, I am still waiting for this to happen as I believe he is second in charge of the Diocese.
He also told me on the phone that the Diocese did not want the Cemetery. I asked him could Central Coast Council take it over as years ago it was run by Erina Council and he hung up on me
and I have heard no more from him.
I approached a foreman of the NSW Roads and asked them could they lay gravel in the road to allow me to gain access and he told me he could not lay roadwork on private property
and to get back in touch with the Diocese. In June 2020 after many phone calls to various people involved with this Cemetery I cannot
find who has any control over what happens in the Cemetery as it seems Central Coast Council has control over it all. I wonder if the Heritage Department have any control at all
as I am being told the Central Coast Council and the NSW Roads have control over everything that happens to the Cemetery, also the National Trust seems to come under them as well.
I contacted the Heritage Department and When you go to websites the old history has been deleted and you cannot find out any information since the Government and NSW Roads has taken over, why has this been removed? This was always able to be read about. I have been in this area for 60 years.was told they have no control at all, as they are all volunteers and have no say.
I drove to the Cemetery recently and found there was a footpath were the road was. 2.5 metres wide to be safe) footpath concrete strip 2.0 metres wide the same as the car
I went to see a foreman from Daracon at lisarow for NSW Roads and asked could he unlock the bollards so I could obtain access, which he did. to see if i can drive up the hill
and also gravel, making the width of a footpath with grass on the other side where you have to drive. The footpath could easily have put in from Wallarah Street
and it would not have interfered with the Cemetery.
The supervisor asked how long I would be and that he would return and relock the bollards. The bollards have been placed at the entrance and the gate cannot be shut as the gravel being too high prevents this from happening. This was passed by Central Coast Council. My wife had cancer and can not walk and I are not in good health and this problem is not helping either of us. i have been driveing there for 60 years to my mother grave on top of the hill .Im now holder of a disabled sticker for my vehicle and am sure access for disabled persons would have to be made provision for by law.
I have a lung condition that prevents me from walking up the hill, so need to be able to drive into the Cemetery, there are also other elderly people who visit the Cemetery regularly who would find it difficult to access by foot.
The Church sent me a copy of an old ten shilling Deed where Robert Cox donated the ground to them. I have a map showing Yangy Angy where the ground was sold to the Diocese of Newcastle.
The property of Robert Cox is next to the F.A.Hely property, its on the map, the land and with acreage donated to the Diocese of Newcastle.
I have done a compass setting of this ground, the compass matches up with Kangy Yangy and North Ourimbah Church near the RSL Club which works out. Ourimbah did not work out by the compass on North and South, compared to their deed of which I have a copy of the church This compass reading be the same, as a surveyor told me. This surveyor will also help me with old maps which I cannot find on the Internet.
I have found out from a surveyor that Cox had land in Kangy Angy up to Tuggerah, he had really old Plans which showed land from Ourimbah Post Office through to Wyong River. He told me the distance and I measured this by driving and found it to be correct in klms. The ground for the Cemetery and Church was put in by the farmers who belonged to Ourimbah Progress Association, along
with donations and functions held in Ourimbah & Lisarow Halls. I don’t know how the Government passed a legislation around 1981 to allow Wyoming Church to take over, also how the
Church acquired the land from Crown Land to their Anglican Church at Wyoming. I was told my mother death records was burnt in a fire at tuggerah church burnt down. but not so i have them now .
And church plan sent to me show on lisarow cemetery ground the north in the south and south in the north its in books this is not true at all and in Government book
