So I’ve been extremely quiet on here for over a year now with all things Massage - apart from Baby Massage classes of course :) and thought I should just mention what is going on…..
For the foreseeable future I am not going to be able to practice massage :(
I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia after a few years of unexplained pain, exhaustion, brain fog and numbness along with a bucket load of other horrible symptoms. I honestly thought I was losing my mind as I have exhausted a lot of testing at the hospital and doctors and now Fibromyalgia does seem to make sense for what is going on.
One of my main issues is loss of power in my arms and hands , with numbness and pain which when doing treatments meant I couldn’t do a good enough job which was soul destroying but also left me fatigued and in pain for a long time after .
I can still teach baby massage and for that I’m really grateful for but I need to listen to my body and giving massage treatment just isn’t something I can do anymore .
Maybe one day when I’ve worked out how to manage this I’ll be back but for the foreseeable I’m folding up my couch :(
Thank you to all of my clients who came to me for treatments , Ive loved having you and you gave me some fire back that this was something I was good at and for that I am so grateful.
