The holidays are filled with cheer and frenzy. Sprinkle a bit of tranquility on the season by planning in advance, sharing your needs and concerns with your loved ones, and asking for help (you can totally ask for help with planning btw ;) ​​​​​​​​

Planning has been my greatest challenge during the holiday season. Historically, I struggle to budget effectively, wait to the last minute to choose gifts, and wait to the last second to ship gifts - resulting in them arriving to their destination late. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
While I'm still trying on planning strategies, one resource that has tremendously helped me with budgeting is ​​​​​​​​

This holiday season keep in mind that traditions aren't always based in diversity; some holiday activities may not feel as joyous to your ND loved one. No need to feel guilty; much of what we know about neurodivergent populations is new information. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Talk with your ND lovers and friends and ask how they feel about the holidays. They may need supportive strategies or new traditions all together. ​​​​​​​​

A clear connection with our intuition allows us to notice and understand our needs, wants, and limits which is essential to boundary setting. We often doubt our intuition and fear setting boundaries, likely due to socialization, masking, and fear of rejection/loneliness. Boundary setting is essential to developing healthy relationships and improving our overall quality of life. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

is more than quirky characteristics and forgetfulness. The impacts of adhd are pervasive and can stir up feelings of frustration, guilt, and shame within the ADHDer. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Personally, being autistic and having learning difference and ADHD can make it tricky to distinguish if a difficulty in an area of my life is a direct result of ADHD, another condition, or both. I've noticed the most ADHD impact in my finances, housekeeping, friendships, dating, and ability to relax. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Since learning that the condition affects these areas of my life and how, I've been able to release many feelings of guilt and shame, become more self-compassionate, and implement skills and accommodations that help me live a life more aligned with my values. You can too. ​​​​​​​​

Therapy w. Jasany is expanding to California to carry out the mission of improving the quality of life of minority individuals at the intersection of neurodivergence. This workshop was developed in the spirit of mutual aid - with the goal of raising funds to assist with the move. Proceeds will be allocated to costs of relocation and California licensing requirements. ​​​​​​​​

Attention Deficit is a bit of a misnomer. ADHDers can focus on things, in fact we can hyperfocus on things to the extent that we become unaware of what's going on inside and outside of ourselves. ​​​​​​​​

ADHDers face challenges with executive functioning - cognitive processes that allow people to consciously control their behavior. So while ADHDers can focus, we can't always control when we focus. Many ADHDers experience this difficulty regulating attention during tasks they don't enjoy and even ones that they do, which can feel extremely frustrating. ADHDers frequently have to find alternative strategies to self-regulate and focus, because we typically aren't motivated by conventional rewards and punishments. :​​​​​​​​

The internet is full of messages telling us to "honor our intuition". Sounds good, but what if you don't know what your intuition sounds likes? Or maybe you've come to be skeptical of you intuition due to unpleasant experiences. ​​​​​​​​

Interoception allows us to provide answer by interpreting what's going on inside our bodies. Practice strengthen your sense of interoception at Self-Discoveries: Befriend Your Intuition. The workshop will begin with a somatic practice tailored at building interoception. ​​​​​​​​
