👀IPHO-Lanao del Sur & Ministry of Health Nutrition Division Attended Philippines Multisectoral Nutrition Project, Local Nutrition Action Plan Workshop

🔊The Philippines Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) Local Nutrition Action Plan Workshop successfully gathered key municipal representatives from 14 areas in Lanao del Sur, including the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs), Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs), and Municipal Health Officers (MHOs) from Wao, Amai Manabilang, Poona Bayabao, Ditsaan-Ramain, Taraka, Marantao, Balindong, Tamparan, Pualas, Saguiran, Calanogas, Kapatagan, Malabang, and Marawi City.
The event was graced by the presence of Undersecretary Abdullah B. Dumama Jr., Cluster Lead of the Nationwide UHC Health Services Cluster and Concurrent Regional Director of the DOH Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD). Also in attendance were BARMM Minister of Health Dr. Kadil M. Sinolinding Jr., the Provincial Health Officers of Maguindanao, and the Provincial Health Officer II of Lanao del Sur, Dr. Alinader D. Minalang. The DOH Nutrition Division Chief, Ms. Celia C. Sagaral, along with the PMNP National Project Management Office (NPMO) team, led by Dr. Faith F. Alberto, also played a vital role in the workshop’s success.
Held from February 10–14, 2025, at DusitD2 Davao, the workshop aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of the Philippines Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP)—its background, objectives, operational framework, and the technical assistance available to support implementation in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Through this initiative, Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) in the BARMM project sites were successfully onboarded and equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to develop and enhance their Municipal Nutrition Action Plans (MNAPs). This collaborative effort marks a significant step toward strengthening local nutrition governance and improving health outcomes in the region.
