✨ Training Day at the Home ✨

Today our senior team took part in Basic Life Support, First Aid and AED training led by our Qualified Trainer & Operations Manager, Kyle.

The staff fully enjoyed the session and came away feeling more confident and prepared should they ever need to use these vital skills.

We’re delighted to now have 6 newly qualified First Aiders in the home – adding even more reassurance that our residents are always in safe hands. 💙

Why don’t chickens ever tell secrets?
Because they might crack under the pressure 🐔😂

Our chickens are proving to be a very popular addition here at Bush House!
And we've just found our second egg! They must be some happy, happy hens! 🥚
The best part about the chickens? Watching Kyle wrangling them in at night for bed, our residents are loving the daily entertainment! 😄

Tomorrow we are naming them! We're asking all our residents to give us some ideas and will be pulling the names out of a hat! If anyone has any suggestions, please comment below!😁

🐓🌿 Eggciting news from Bush House🌿🐓

Today we welcomed some new feathered friends to our little farm – our very own chickens! 🥚🐔

This isn’t just about fresh eggs (though we’re looking forward to those too!) – it’s about giving our residents meaningful daily activities, new routines, and plenty of smiles. Caring for the chickens brings purpose, joy, and connection with nature, while sparking wonderful conversations and memories. 💛

At Bush House, we’re always looking for ways to enrich life for the people who live here. Bringing animals, nature, and new experiences into our home is part of our journey to become a true centre of excellence in care – where residents don’t just live, they thrive. 🌟

🌟 Bush House Staff of the Month! 🌟

Here at Bush House, we’re so lucky to have such a dedicated and caring team. Our staff know whether your loved ones prefer tea or coffee, how many sugars, and whether it’s a builder’s brew or a milky cup that will brighten their day. They know just the right music to get everyone singing and dancing, and which films to avoid unless they want a slipper thrown at them!

We’re excited to introduce our new Staff of the Month award, recognising a team member who has really stood out.

In July, it was our fabulous Caitlyn!! 🎉

Caitlyn joined us straight out of school and has truly become part of the furniture here at Bush House. Her hard work, dedication, and cheerful spirit make her an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you Caitlyn, we’re so lucky to have you on our team! 💛

🌱 Bush House Gardening Plot Update 🌱

You may have spotted our new gardening plot alongside Bush House!

Our incredible maintenance manager, Malcolm, has been working tirelessly over the past few months, and we’re delighted to share that he’s just helped us pick our second harvest of the year. 🥕🥔🌿

Just look at those fresh carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, and green beans! We’ve also got some chillies nearly ready to ripen, and residents are already putting in their requests for next year’s vegetables. 🍅🌶️🥦

A huge thank you to Malcolm for all his hard work, it’s wonderful to see everyone enjoying the fruits (and veggies!) of his labour. 💚

🌹 In Loving Memory of Cyril 🌹

Last week, we sadly said goodbye to our wonderful Cyril. 💙

During their visits, Cyril’s family have met so many kind and caring people here at Bush House, and they would like to warmly invite anyone who wishes to join them in saying a final farewell.

📅 Funeral Service: Friday 29th August
⏰ Time: 10:45am
📍 Location: Narberth Crematorium

Following the service, there will be a celebration of Cyril’s life at The British Legion Pub, Milford Haven, where all are welcome.

Cyril, you filled our days with laughter and joy — you will be truly missed by us all. 💐

🌞 A Huge Thank You from All of Us at Bush House Care Home🌞

What an incredible day! We just want to say the biggest thank you to all the families, friends, and members of our wonderful community who came along to our summer fête. Your support, your smiles, and your kindness made the day truly special.

Our residents had the most amazing time—there were laughs, music, delicious treats, and so many moments of joy shared. It meant the world to see everyone together, and the residents haven’t stopped talking about it (although most of them were ready for an early night after all the excitement!).

Events like these remind us how lucky we are to be part of such a warm and caring community. Thank you for showing up, for joining in, and for helping us create beautiful memories with those we care for.

Here’s to many more days like this. 💛

Our fabulous Deputy Manager Jen couldn’t resist getting into the tropical spirit while prepping the props for our Summer Fête this Saturday! 😎🍍

Armed with an inflatable palm tree, a mic, and a whole lot of Hawaiian vibes, she’s bringing the sunshine indoors already! ☀️🌺
