I’m sharing my musings following a powerful conversation with a fellow body worker & healer. She shared her current struggles with adopting a new useful habit & we questioned reality together.
I want to show you how powerful you really are. And more specifically, how powerful your beliefs are. They shape almost *everything* about your experience of reality.
I’d love to hear what stands out to you! Catch you in the comments ✨
Moving Through An Anxious High
We all get high for different reasons.
You might do it to help you fall asleep, to stimulate your appetite after being sick, to wind down after a long day at work, to elevate your yoga practice, or make whatever it is you’re doing a *little* bit more exciting.
But perhaps after ingesting, you start to feel antsy….
Your mind begins to wander and race. You feel sensations throughout your body. You sense anxiety creeping in.
What was initially an attempt to ease your mind and body has suddenly catapulted you in the opposite direction.
But why did this happen? And how can you prevent it in the future?
(B/c we both know this isn’t the first time this has happened. And it probably won’t be the last.)
I want to share with you a few things you can do when you find yourself in the thick of it. (B/c becoming “un-high” ain’t an option)
1. Close your eyes & take a few deep breaths. Your body is trying to communicate with you - & you can only listen if you slow down & get present.
2. Grab your journal & write, “What do I need to know right now?” This is a Q you’re presenting to your subconscious. Let yourself free-write for +/- a few minutes, see what comes up. Resist forcing anything, just let the thoughts & words flow.
3. Get into your body. Whether this is on your yoga mat, taking a walk outside, or dancing! Anxious energy in the body is best dispelled through movement.
This is where I would start.
If you find that you usually just sit there all anxious, or go to sleep b/c it feels like you can’t do anything else… then give this a try!
Sometimes, what you need to know is BIG. And sometimes, what you need to know is NOT big.
But if you never ask, you’ll never know, and your body will continue to signal for your attention.
So be BRAVE - & give yourself that attention. You deserve this. 💛

I know what you want.
And I know why you struggle.
Here’s what you need to know to confidently start processing & healing…
I also offer a message of vulnerability, hope & love, from me to you. May we all get actualized AF. ✨
A note on conscious cannabis consumption.
The best gift you can give yourself on your cannabis journey: INTENTION
When I started incorporating cannabis back into my life after 6 years of unconscious use + a 1 year hiatus…
I realized that it wasn’t the plant that was doing me dirty. It was my lack of intention when using the plant. (Read that again.)
I’m the past, my consumption didn’t have any purpose. This is what I mean when I say “unconscious use” — I didn’t have a good reason, or at least, didn’t understand what I wanted from the experience.
Each time I got high further etched negative experiences into my mind and my body.
This led to years of anxiety, overwhelm & self-doubt. Years of running away from myself… staying just far enough ahead to not get caught up.
After I took a year off from using the plant… I felt called to start again with my use, but I truly was scared to start smoking again.
I was afraid that I would resort back to those behaviors that always left me feeling negatively. I had to do something differently.
When I started approaching my use of cannabis with intention, suddenly my experience shifted.
I was seeing & appreciating the plant for what she truly was 👉 MEDICINE
Whatever it is that you are seeking, start with that intention. Open yourself up to it. Approach it with a conscious awareness.
Resist the urge to blow through it quickly… the urge to use more than you need…
Prepare to be taken on a journey. Trust & allow that conscious awareness to guide you to where you need to be.
Hot tip - I like to keep my journal close by, to help me process some of my thoughts, feelings & ideas. As you get better with this, insights will really start to flow!

How To Eat Right?
There’s. No. Wrong.
All eating is right eating. 🙌
The trick is this — what’s right for YOU, may be wrong for ME!
Here are some questions to consider when it comes to determining what to eat:
⚡️ What do you enjoy eating?
⚡️ What is locally available to you?
⚡️ What makes your body feel energized?
⚡️ What do you get excited about eating?
⚡️ What foods are in season?
⚡️ What food have you always wanted to try?
Other factors to consider might be: allergies, intolerances, appetite, & cooking mechanisms available to you.
Remember that ALL eating is RIGHT eating because your body NEEDS to be nourished! 😍
A day in the life of a chronic dieter’s metabolism - can you relate? 😂

When a casual conversation about “health” and “fitness” leads to doubt about what you know and do... 😳
Friend A: “I stopped eating fruit so I could decrease my sugar intake - do you know how much sugar is in fruit?!” 🤨
Friend B: “I’m doing a power flow yoga class 5x/week @ 5am - studies show that mornings are the best time to workout!” 😜
Friend C: “I put ACV & lemon into my water.. it helps you burn fat! Holidays here I come!” 🥸
** Psssst! If any of these statements make ya feel cringey, this is for you! **
What’s the most important skill needed to stop comparing yourself to others, & keep your health in alignment with your own values?
✨ DISCERNMENT ✨ (the ability to judge well)
This doesn’t mean to be judgmental, but to judge for yourself whether something is meant for you or not.
👉 So you hear a new thought/opinion/perspective - how do you practice discernment?
1️⃣- Take a breath. Hear what is being suggested without judging it. (Maybe that fits the other person’s values?)
2️⃣- Check in with your own values (ex: connection, joy, grace?) & decide if this thing aligns with them.
3️⃣- Integrate, or walk away. Either it will fit (in which case you want to find a way to integrate that) or it will contradict (in which case you’ll leave it there.)
You don’t ever have to explain yourself to anyone else — you’re the one who lives with you 24/7, & the one who gets to decide how that time is spent. 🙌
Practicing discernment breeds confidence, & confident humans don’t require the approval or permission from others to do what feels right.
Like a breath of fresh air 🍃
🤔 Have you ever been stretching, but instead of focusing on what you’re doing, you find yourself daydreaming, having a conversation or scrolling through your phone?
This is the most COMMON mistake I see for people who are trying to build more flexibility! 🤭
Go ahead and tag a someone you know who struggles with this… 😅👇
There’s no shaming here – that used to be me! I used to feel frustrated with my progress, and desperate for something that would help me find the mobility in my body that I was looking for. 😖
Once I started my yoga teacher journey, I uncovered an approach to flexibility that now leaves me feeling confident and excited!
I want to share with you 3 Ways to Build Your Flexibility! These have been life changing for my body and I know they can be for you too! 🙌
3 WAYS TO BUILD YOUR FLEXIBILITY
1. Learn to focus on your breathing 💨
The breath is what connects our minds and our bodies. In order to move oxygen through our muscles we have to consciously be moving the air in and out of our lungs. It’s easy for the mind to wander, but focus on keeping your attention with your inhales and exhales. Deepen them as you’re able.
2. Get comfortable with discomfort ⛈
Typically the pose where you feel the most unsettled is the best place for you to be. (NOT injurious pains, just positions that you can be in, but they don’t exactly feel fun.) That unsettled feeling is your body’s way of saying, “Hi hello this space needs some attention please!”
3. Prioritize breath cycles over time spent 🌒🌓🌔
Focusing on the breath, instead of waiting for 60 seconds to be over, will help you progress faster. I start with a minimum of 15 breath cycles and go longer as my body begins to settle.
There you have it! 👏 When it comes to building flexibility, it is less about the pose that you’re doing, and more about HOW you’re doing it!
👀 It’s time to look at your stretching routine differently and ex
For many of you, the idea of yoga is very appealing! Having better body awareness, mobility, confidence, peace of mind, and a self-care practice, who doesn’t want that? 😀The problem is… there are too many barriers. Right?
You’re not thin enough, you’re not flexible enough, you’re not patient enough, you’re not _______ enough, and so it goes. I feel you, friend. 😒 You could wait until you “become” those things, sure. But who knows if that’s where you'll end up or how long it will take. I think you’re better off just meeting yourself where you’re at.
I’m on a mission to 👊 break down these barriers to help you see that you can do yoga, and the only prerequisite is that desire that you have.
I’m hosting a 3-Part Workshop Series just for YOU! It’s designed to help you build strength, improve your flexibility, and learn how to meditate. A well balanced yoga practice requires skills in all of these areas to be safe and effective - and I want to introduce them to you!
The link in my bio will give you all the extra information you need. It’s 3 sessions, 2 hours each, $75 total. Let me be your guide to beginning your own yoga practice. 🧘 I want you this practice to feel accessible to you. I want you to feel confident in yourself. I want you to give yourself permission to experience the benefits that a yoga practice can bring. Namaste, friends. 🙏

I’m diving into some real talk about my personal experience with eating seasonally. You’re not getting a step by step guide here... you’re getting a (maybe?) comical self-actualizing monologue about how shopping seasonally can help you avoid burnout with your favorite foods and expand your own pallet! And guess what - YOU DON’T HAVE TO EAT FOODS YOU DON’T LIKE 👏 Enjoy. And feel free to tell me how to cook squash or zucchini.. or how else hummus fits into your life. 😂 Sharing is caring! 💕
There’s something I’ve been wanting to talk about with you all for awhile now, but never felt truly compelled to - until now. Collective trauma has a physiological (& psychological) impact on all of us, and denying our realities based on that truth is blasphemous if we are in the wellness field. Don’t be a predator, & don’t allow yourself to become prey. Weight gain in the wake of a global crisis is not only normal... it is expected, and you do not deserve to be shamed... you do not need to be fixed! 👏
