Walter keeps us on our toes in every aspect of life. Recently we saw a change in him we couldn’t quite figure out. Sometimes more sleepy, more behavioral changes, and I had been watching some bumps that had popped up in his groin area. I watched for a couple weeks and tried to figure out if it was meds, illness, etc. There wasn’t a specific pattern and I was stumped. I took a picture of his bumps to send them to his doctor and on the same night a rash appeared. Not anything alarming, just bumps all over his skin, but strange and not sure what they were from. We took him to the pediatrician and before doing so we talked to genetics to have both on the same page. Genetics asked for certain labs to be done by the pediatrician. We tested for strep which was negative. Labs looked pretty good. There was one that was slightly high but not alarming because his other labs looked good. The plan was to repeat the labs in July. Over last weekend the bumps which we figured out were lymph nodes had multiplied and changed in size. We reached out to genetics again that said they wanted me to bring him in so they could take a look and come up with a plan. We brought him in Wednesday, we did more bloodwork and had an ultrasound. His bloodwork had a few things off that are typical for Walter. These numbers seem to go up and down for him. The lab that was slightly high still was high. They compared it to when he had this lab a few years ago and it was around the same then. His meeting with his team went well. He was being his silly self and grabbing the flashlight and trying to give the exam. The ultrasound showed normal reactive lymph nodes due to infection or inflammation. Some larger in size than others. We just don’t know what they were caused by. I think it’s safe to say we ruled out all the scary stuff. We are still watching and will have repeat labs with our next scan. If they come up with any other plan they will let us know.
We are soaking in the warm weather and enjoying outdoors as much as we can when Walter can tolerate it. He wants to be just like his big brother in the batting cage ❤️
