The caregivers at Stillwater Medical Center have once again received the highest national ranking from the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke program for their commitment to providing quality stroke care. Their dedication ensures patients having an active stroke receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines. This ultimately leads to more lives being saved and reduces the risk of disabilities from strokes.
“It takes a village to receive the GoldPlus standard in stroke care,” said July Stanley, Stroke Coordinator at Stillwater Medical Center. “It’s a team effort, including, but not limited to nursing, lab, EMS, registration, case management, pharmacy, physicians and advanced practice providers, therapists, imaging - it’s all hands-on deck. Every department works hard to streamline our processes and deliver prompt, high quality stroke care.”
Stroke is the No. 5 cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the U.S.
