Sometimes all it takes is acceptance…

As humans, we are near perfect and we would never be perfect. We need to accept the downsides as well as upsides.

If we keep pushing ourselves to be perfect or near perfect, we might end up experiencing more problems.

Expectations from life, work, family or ourselves should be realistic.

Where am I based in London for face to face sessions?

I have been renting a therapy room at Gestalt Centre. The rooms are perfectly designed for counselling sessions. Lighting, decoration, temperature, staff, waiting area, everything is designed for your comfort.
I, as a practitioner, also feel so comfortable to welcome my clients at Gestalt Centre. It is designed for counsellors and psychotherapists.

King’s Cross St. Pancras or Camden Road, Camden Town and Mornington Crescent stations are the closest stations to the centre.

Your comfort is my priority.

What is your meaning of life?
What keeps you motivated?
What makes you feel low?
What is your boundaries?
What are the things you cannot tolerate in life?
What are the things boosts your energy?
What can you practice as self care?
Knowing ourselves better improves our mental health. Knowing what you like and don’t like enable you to act in the best interest for yourself which has a positive impact on your mental health.
Noticing what keeps you motivated, energised, happy and regularly reminding yourself to practice these things will maintain your positive mood for longer period of time. Look after yourself and your mental health.

It is okay to say no !

All of us have a fear of saying “no” time to time.
Sometimes we are scared to hurt other person by saying “no”, sometimes we feel that we will be left out if we say “no” or sometimes we want to fit into society and follow/agree what others say…

These feelings are completely normal however we forget about our boundaries, red lines when we say “yes” to everything. And it usually follow up with people crossing your boundaries and personal space.

I have heard so many times that saying “no” is a nightmare for lots of people, including me, sometimes.

How can we practice saying “no” to other people?
⬇️
1. Be assertive
2. Try not to sound hesitant
3. Don’t apologise for saying “no”
4. You can give a brief explanation of why you say “no” but try not to make it too detailed
5. Try to say “no” in every time you face with the same situation without making an exclusion (in that way people make it less personal)

Why is apology important?

- It shows that you care about the other party
- It shows that you can see your own falls & downsides
- It shows that you can self-criticise
- It shows that you can empathise with other’s feelings
- It shows that you are remorseful

Empathy or sympathy?
We all get confused about these two terms time to time. Although they sound quite similar, they are completely different terms.
Empathy suggests that we feel what other person is feeling. Sympathy suggests that we acknowledge what other person is feeling.
Empathy and sympathy both helps us to improve our relationship with people. They are also important to understand social clues, act appropriately in certain situations and be more likeable person.
