This is the second time we were in Maldives, sharing our experience and knowledge with our Orthopedic brothers, this time in ADK Hospital in Male. We were granted by MMDC the temporary practice and credentialling. We are very privillaged to be in the OT (feels like the turtle was watching us..) with Dr Hussain Shakeel, head Orthosports surgeon and his very dedicated team. It's truly inspiring to learn about ADK Hospital's incredible journey from a humble clinic to a major medical center and its evolution over the past 38 years, now boasting over 250 beds, including 32 private suites, and a dedicated team of 800 staff, including 13 super specialists and 53 specialists, is remarkable. The presence of specialized units like the Cardiovascular Centre of Excellence (HITECC) and the Hyperbaric Treatment Unit is particularly noteworthy, highlighting the hospital's commitment to addressing the specific healthcare needs of the Maldives, especially given the prevalence of diving activities.

After 2 days of surgery, we were then hosted in Villa Nautica at Paradise Island, a private island, which was indeed an unforgettable experience - to be able to saviour the warmth of the sunset and sunrise on both sides of the island. Interestingly, they even have a mosque to cater for their staff and guests and i was very blessed to have my Friday prayers here on this private island.

A big Thank you to our very generous host, Mr Ahmed Nashid, The Chairman of ADK Group, for the very luxurious and kind hospitality which made us feel very welcomed (and wantimg to stay longer.... 😅) . And the ADK Hospital Team too led by Managing Director Mr Ahmed Afaal and Dr Hussain Shakeel, Orthosports ADK. Alhamdulillah.

We shall strive to materialise the collaboration between ADK Hospital, UKM Specialists Centre Kuala Lumpur, KL Orthosports and Celler Therapeutics. InsyaAllah. 😎🇲🇾🇲🇻💪🏽

A big Thank You to the Honourable Sports Minister of Maldives, Dr Abdulla Rafiu, for gracing the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Malaysia-Maldives International Orthosports Symposium 2024 at Dharumavantha Hospital IGMH, Male. Thank you to the Orginazing Committee led by Dr Hussein Faisal, the Head of Orthopedics in IGMH and Dr Mohamed Razzan Rameez an team for the very well organized event. We are very impressed with the hospital building and facilities especially the superb view of the sea from the operating theatre and the conference hall.
