Health and Wellness

As long as I can remember, I wanted to become a physician. The main reasons were that I loved science and having the power to heal. I went to medical school and noticed we as physicians get very little training on nutrition or exercise, but tons on pharmacology. Why do we have to treat so many chronic diseases, when we can prevent them? We can prevent them mainly through proper nutrition, exercise and rest. Give up bad habits like smoking and excessive drinking and there is almost no limit to your health. Although western medicine focuses mainly on treatment over prevention, I feel like I must as a physician do my part to give the proper knowledge to anyone who wants to improve their health.
