Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and millions of lives forever changed on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

I remember exactly where I was that fateful day. I was a college freshman, 50 miles away from home. I was a student worker on campus and heard some commotion in the back room. Some employees were watching a television and I thought it was a movie. They told me out was the news and a plane had crashed into the North tower. As we were watching, the second plane crashed into the South tower. At that moment, the room was silent. We knew it was intentional and our nation was under attack. Campus was closed shortly thereafter, and I drove home as quickly as I could.

We were all afraid, yet united. Our lives were forever altered. We felt compassion for those directly affected by the tragic events that day in New York, Pennsylvania, and D.C. If only we could get back to that compassion and unity, just under better circumstances. Those lives lost were not in vain. They are remembered for the love they left.

Always say “I love you” before leaving the house or hanging up the phone. Hug your loved ones, including your pets. Take nothing for granted. Be grateful for everything. 🙏🏻💖✨

For your life. For your soul.

My healing journey began arguably at birth, as all stories do, but consciously it began a few years ago. In 2014, after losing one of my most favorite people, my lighthouse (as one astute friend put it), the death of my grandfather altered my life. Over the course of the next year, I would lose a few relationships and enter a dark night of the soul. Ironically, the next year was one of the brightest so far in my life. I got an awesome job helping people (my life mission and soul purpose), went through life-changing grief training (and healing some of myself in the process), met my now-spouse, and had the honor of meeting some awesome coworkers. Fast forward another two years and my life would once again U-turn and I would be forced to leave that awesome job, drop out of school, and take care of my beautiful son. Thankfully I had the love and support of my wife, family, and friends to get me through. I also joined MeetUp and found a fantastic soul group. Thus began my conscious healing journey. I have taken many courses there and became certified in Reiki 1 & 2 (soon-to-be Master). I can relate to many people’s experiences and empathize if I haven’t experienced it myself. One of the greatest compliments I have received from many people is that I listen without judgement and people feel comfortable talking to me.
