• Stress Management: chronic stress can wreak havoc on the nervous system. Techniques such as yoga, deep breathing, meditation, earthing, and journaling can help manage stress levels. 
• Sun exposure or Red Light Therapy: sunlight can increase the brain's release of a hormone called serotonin, which is associated with mood boosting and helping a person feel calm and focused. This can have a positive effect on the nervous system.

                                Imposter Syndrome. Have you experienced it? I know I have. 
Some tips I was given to work through imposter syndrome is recognizing it, and moving through it. When you start to feel intrusive thoughts about not being good enough, not having enough experience, time, money, etc., take pause and write down all the things you have accomplished thus far. It can be goals you have already met, courses you have taken, client reviews, all the steps you took to get you to this point. It will be a great reminder of how far you have come and how capable you are of achieving your goals. 
Remember, imposter syndrome usually shows up most during periods of growth and great change! Acknowledge it, but don't let your fears stop you from moving forward. It doesn't get to decide where you're going. You have your own special abilities, experiences and knowledge that deserves to be shared with the world. No one is like YOU!
If your inner critic starts to creep in, just tell it, "Silenzio, Bruno!" 😊👍🫶

                                How does epigenetics (how our behaviors and environment affect our genes) influence health outcomes? 
We may think we have no control over our genetics, but that's not completely true. Even individuals who are genetically predisposed for chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease and even cancer can greatly improve their health outcomes by making simple changes to their lifestyle and diet. 
A survey taken in 2009 by Earl Ford and colleagues published results of survey research conducted on 23,000 people in and around Potsdam, Germany. Participants were asked four  lifestyle questions:  1. Do you eat a healthy diet? (habitual intake of fruit, veggies and whole grains) 2. Do you smoke? 3. Do you participate in regular exercise?  4. Is your weight well managed? (healthy BMI).
Participants who answered Yes to all four factors, had an 80% reduced risk of chronic disease over the lifespan of the survey compared to those without a healthy factor. Flip the switch on just one lifestyle factor from No to Yes and it was enough to reduce their risk of chronic disease by 50%. (1) Current research is still finding these lifestyle factors major contributors to overall reduction of chronic diseases.
As you can see, lifestyle can greatly impact our long-term health outcomes. We have the power to choose what we eat, how we move our bodies and the environment we surround ourselves in.
We may not be able to change our genes, but we CAN influence them positively with simple lifestyle changes we implement now!

                                My quick and easy overnight oats.
I love this recipe because it includes the macros I need as well as some plants to get my morning started off full of energy 💪 My kids love it too, so that's a double win in my book! 
Recipe here:
1/3 cup organic oats
1/3 cup Greek yogurt (I like lactose free Fage as it's high in protein and easy on my tummy)
1 tbsp chia seeds (great source of omega 3's, calcium, iron and fiber)
1 tbsp flax seeds (great source of omega 3's and 6's, fiber and protein) 
1/4 cup berries of choice 
1 tbsp honey
Fill the rest of the mason jar with milk of choice (I like Malk almond milk) 
Sprinkle cinnamon on top 
Add lid and shake to mix. Store in the refrigerator overnight and enjoy! Yup, it's that easy.
