“Four Seasons in One Day” - a commissioned piece I delivered to my clients this morning.

This is the first time I’m sharing this artwork because my clients bought it for their new home and hadn’t seen it before today. I always wait for the client to see the piece first before posting it on my website or social media.

This particular work has been especially challenging to photograph; it’s incredibly difficult to capture its true essence. The photos don’t do justice to the depth, the vibrancy of the colors, or the overall feel of the piece.

So, delivering this work was a bit nerve-wracking since I didn’t share much photos with my clients too. So it was incredibly rewarding to see my client so happy and enthusiastic about it.

It was an honor to create this piece! I’ll be enjoying their reaction for weeks to come. I’m also immensely proud and grateful that my work will be displayed in their beautiful home, among so many other stunning art pieces. Each work there is more beautiful than the last.

“Four Seasons in One Day” The warm orange hues evoke autumn, while the dark branches hint at winter. Bright green symbolizes spring, and a subtle sun reflects summer’s warmth. This parallels the four seasons of the year with the phases of a single day.

Morning brings spring, a time of awakening and growth. By midday, summer is in full bloom with the sun at its peak. Evening ushers in autumn, a time for reflection and calm. Night brings winter, a period of rest and restoration.

“Four Seasons in One Day” highlights the cycle of nature, of time and life, reminding us that each new morning is an opportunity to start again fresh and grow.

The artwork you see in the photo is my original artwork. I’ve redesigned this work in collaboration with the .nl using their exquisite yarn collection.
At the moment a sample is being made. Yeah!

Soon, this tapestry artwork will be available for custom orders – whether smaller or even larger. Just like this one, 180 cm wide and 120 cm high.

A perfect art tapestry behind the sofa, above the bed, in the reception area, or in the office. She’s intense, has power and energy. Is bold but elegant.

Last week had the official opening of their new office. It’s an inspiring, colorful and creative space. A workplace everybody should have. My work is hanging beautiful in this gorgeous space (and it was such an honor to get so much compliments about my work!).

Just to see her in perspective. She’s not done yet. I’m working on a commission so she has to wait to be cut, shaved and shaped.
But this view, seeing her framed, on the wall is stunning. Can’t wait to finish her!

Quick scribble this week. As I told you a few days ago, it’s all about nesting here. Just a few more days to go! And while nesting, so much is going on here. New commissions I’m working on, making designs for a possible collaboration and I’m making scribbles from high end oldtimers! Nope, that’s no writing or reading mistake.. I’m working on some fabulous Porsche and Ferrrari scribbles. Soooo different to make then my portraits. It’s a true challenge but I love it. And they are going to be fabulous! Soon more.

So weird. As you could see in my stories; I’m getting a puppy! And I know that moms-to-be have this nesting urge. I don’t have children so I never experienced that feeling but it seems I have that now. With a puppy!

These last weeks I cleaned my home, organized all my cabinets. My garden is done. All puppy stuff is here and in place. But it goes deeper. I feel this urge to clean and organize everything else too. From my work, to my wardrobe, to my studio space.. Even my instagram account!

Yesterday I removed over 1000 followers and I’m not nearly done. All private accounts with almost no posts, no followers but with more then 5000 accounts they follow: out! Those are spam/bot accounts and I want them out. Clean!
So much work but I’m happy I’m cleaning and organizing it all!

She’s done but still on my frame and ready for some glue. I need my frame for a new commissioned artwork. But it also feels as another job that I can cross off. I think my ‘nest’ will be ready within a few days. Hahah..

One of the biggest ‘challenges’ with her work was the working the names of her children. Her oldest son wrote his and his sisters name. I had to copy his handwriting on exactly like he wrote it.
But my brain feels the urge to make it cleaner. Straight lines. That S closet to the A. Tiny things like that.. But you can’t do that!!! I want it to be his handwriting , so nothing ‘cleaner’ or ‘prettier’. It’s already perfect.

Love this scribble so much but my niece says she looks like the monster in Wednesday. I don’t see it.. I love that big eye and that searching vibe in her face.

This is a photo I found on Pinterest. It has a dead link with tumblr. Did a google search. Nothing. So I don’t have credits for the photographer or the model.

Energy. That’s my work. That power, that vibe or feeling I see in an image, in my mind is what I try to translate into colors, lines and shapes. Details are less important but at the same time a big part of my work.

Let me explain with this Wil.I.Am design. I used around 6 or 7 colors of yarn to make his eye to create depth and some sparkle. But in his other eye I just used 2 colors to get that ‘what’s up’ look in his eye. I minimalist his hat because it doesn’t need focus but it’s not a uni white hat! The back goes to ecru to create depth and roundness.

Details. Different in each design. It’s a search for the best way and the right spot to get that energy right.

En dan zit je bij aan de keukentafel. Heb je net je kunstwerk in de woonkamer opgehangen en word je geïnterviewd voor haar nieuwsbrief. Klinkt bijna onwerkelijk maar toch is het echt gebeurd. Droom groot.

Het is een bijzonder verhaal. Een heel mooi verhaal met een net zo bijzonder kunstwerk. Een verhaal wat 2,5 jaar geleden begon. Over wat een boek kan doen, over dromen en deze waarmaken.

Ik vertel je alles zeker nog maar lees eerst maar het interview van Eva in de nieuwsbrief van as zondag (link op naar insta account). En schrijf je ook meteen in mijn mijn nieuwsbrief . Die komt eind februari weer. Inclusief 2 doeken met een tijdelijke korting, alleen voor abonnees.

Mr. Robbie Williams! Scribbled him over a year ago but never showed you. So here’s his vibe and attitude in a fun, loose, energetic scribble.

I scribble with tiny small scribbles, large rough lines or fun, energetic swirls. It’s a different energy in each face that needs a different line.

It always starts with the eyes. In my work, the eyes are always detailed. Small, thin lines. Many colors. Sometimes with minimal shade differences but still I need the different nuance.

In this design, I've kept the facial lines much rougher. Angular, larger, and thus somewhat rawer. But as a counterpoint, the eyes are much more detailed.

I spent over 8 hours on them. Every color is importanbt. Here’s the start and that has to be right.

Every day I love her more. It took me a while to get her off my frame. While she was drying I started a new work on my other frame, other side of my studio. And I’d noticed I’d like to have her watching my back.

But I need my frame! And she needs a cut and some more shaping and shaving.
