This photo was taken in 2017, not long after I arrived in California. I remember being asked to do this photoshoot and feeling so uncomfortable, both emotionally and physically.

Since then, the road has been windy, with times where I’ve felt really good and other times not so great.

One thing that always brings me back to my core is movement and routines.

This is why I decided to take charge of my mental health at the end of last year, setting myself up for a journey where I hope to help others along the way! Just like picked me up when I needed it 💕.

Chaturanga got you feeling like a faceplant in slow motion? Let’s
bust that myth that Chaturanga is only for bendy ninjas.

Let’s break it down and make it fun for EVERYONE!

Why modify Chaturanga? It’s like having superpowers!

* Build Super Strength: Chaturanga needs a strong core. Modifications help you build that power safely!
* Alignment A-Game: Good form is key to avoiding ouchies. Modifications help you stay aligned while getting super strong.
* Yoga for Every Body: No body left behind! These variations make Chaturanga possible for everyone.

1. First up, let’s warm up that spine with some Cat-Cow Grooves! (Always great to fall back on at any time)
* Get on all fours, wrists under shoulders, knees under hips.
* Inhale, arch your back.
* Exhale, round your back like a sassy cat.
* Repeat a few times, follow your your breath.

Now you’re ready to slay Chaturanga with these awesome variations!

2. Kneel Down Chaturanga: Ditch the faceplant , go for a comfy chest bump! Start in plank, then bend your knees for a core and shoulder strengthening hug.

3. Forearm Plank Lower: Plank pose got you feeling shaky? Lower yourself onto your forearms instead of bending elbows. Builds upper body strength like a boss while keeping your back flat.

4. Dolphin Power: Feeling like a downward-facing dog variation. Walk your feet closer. Lower your forearms to the ground, keeping your hips high. Strengthens your upper back and shoulders while keeping your spine happy.

1. Celebrate the “om”s: Every held pose, smooth transition, or deeper breath is a win! High five yourself for progress, big or small. 🙌
2. Find your flow: Yin, vinyasa, restorative - choose a practice that makes you feel amazing! ✨ Joy fuels motivation.
3. Join the yogi tribe: Find supportive friends, together, we rise (and bend!) higher.
