Fuel Your Body the Natural Way

At Lamb Island Yoga Fitness & Health, we often talk about movement, breath and strength… but what we fuel our bodies with matters just as much.

Nature provides some incredible foods that help support how our bodies move and recover.

🍌 Bananas – rich in potassium to help muscles function well and reduce cramps.

❤️ Beetroot – supports healthy circulation and blood flow, helping the heart work efficiently.

🍎 Apples – full of fibre to support digestion and overall gut health.

🍉 Watermelon – naturally hydrating and refreshing for the body, especially in our Queensland climate.

🌿 Turmeric – known for supporting the body with inflammation and recovery.

🍋 Lemon – great for digestion and helping the body feel lighter and less bloated.

Small daily choices like these can make a big difference to how our bodies move, stretch, recover and feel.

Somatic training changed how I teach — but not in the way people think.

I don’t teach somatics at people.
I don’t label it.
I don’t ask bodies to perform or push.

What I do is gently invite people to feel into their body.

To notice breath.
To sense effort and ease.
To move with curiosity instead of expectation.

Since my somatic and creative sequencing training, my teaching has become quieter, slower, more honest. Less “do it right” … more “what does your body need today?”

I see it in my students:
• more trust in their bodies
• less forcing
• better awareness
• movement that actually sticks beyond the mat

This work isn’t about shapes or poses.
It’s about reconnecting people to themselves , especially those who’ve felt disconnected, injured, overwhelmed, or unheard.

That’s the kind of yoga I believe in.
And it’s the way I’ll always teach.

As our classes continue to grow (which I’m so grateful for!), I’d love your help in keeping our little street calm, safe, and respectful for our neighbours

If you’re able to, please consider:
🚲 Riding your bike or scooter to class
🚶‍♀️ Walking when possible
🚗 Carpooling with a friend
🅿️ Or parking on the opposite side of the road and walking across
