Why aren’t you getting lasting results?
If your goal is lasting results...
❤️ Fall in love with the process!
This week one of my students thanked me for one year of consistent Pilates. Her goal was to lose weight and gain health. Before Pilates, she had tried many activities like strength training, barre classes, even CrossFit. She said she got some results, but she couldn’t keep the momentum.
Lack of time, lack of motivation. And she ended losing everything she gained. Does this sound familiar? 🤔
Probably you already heard that if you want lasting results, consistency is critical. And to be consistent, you must enjoy the process!
Find an activity you will look forward to the next class or session. That will make you feel good, energized, and the most incredible version of yourself right after you are done. So that, when you are exhausted because of your kids 👧🏻 or stressed at work 💼 (we all have those days, right?), you will keep yourself accountable.
That’s what Pilates does to my student and me. It fires us up! 🔥
👉🏼 What makes you feel like that?
Ps. I have 2 spots opened for online private session this Friday. If you wanna take a workout with me, send a DM.

👇🏼Indicators of an effective workout👇🏼
What people think are indicators of an effective workout:
❌ Lots of sweat and fatigue.
❌ High volume of sessions, series, and rep.
❌ Muscle soreness.
What actually are indicators of an effective workout:
✅ Improve body strength & functionality.
✅ Improve the quality of movement patterns.
✅ Improve the quality of life.
People make the mistake of focusing on how much they sweat, how many calories they think they burned, how much time they spend on workouts.
Instead, track your progression, focusing on what really matters:
👉🏼 How you feel after the workout, how you improve the quality of your movement, how much you improve the quality of your life.
Tell me in the comments... Which factor do you focus on? ✅ or ❌?
Ps. Want an effective workout? DM me, and I will send you more info. 😉

Building a strong core & better balance with ✨SIDE PLANK✨.
This week a client did the star side plank for the first time. She said she had tried it before in a group fitness class, but she sank into her shoulder and was unable to raise the hips.
It is very challenging to hold the body on the side in a straight position, supported only by one arm and the side of one foot. Swipe to check how we worked the side plank progressions to build her strength and balance. She started on the forearm and knee bent. Follow the pictures and try this! 💪🏼
Just a few things to think about it.👇🏼
Checklist:
✅Is your elbow directly under the shoulder?
✅Is your back connected?
✅Are your hips straight?
✅Is your bottom shoulder away from the ear?
✨If yes, move on to the next level!
👉🏼 Which exercise do you struggle the most? I would love to help you! Post in a comment below.

I'm grateful for my amazing clients. 💙
Meet Melissa Fruscella 💃🏻. Melissa is a ballroom dancer who wanted to work on her core and legs strength to improve her performance on the dance floor.
I've been working online private sessions with Melissa since April, and I'm amazed with her results! She has a pilates chair at home, and she just crushed some advanced moves on the chair. 💪🏻
What is your goal with Pilates? Tell me in the comments. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Happy Friday with The Roll Over!
Spine mobility, breathing, deep abdominals, balance, control, coordination, and FUN! 😁
Are you scared of shoulder stands and sending legs overhead? I’ve been teaching the roll over prep in my classes. My students have amazed me! If there is no contraindication, it is possible! You just need to learn the correct technique.
Would you like to learn about it? Tell me in the comments and share your experience.

🔹4 hip flexors stretches🔹
Tight hip flexors? Who else has spent many hours sitting at work? 🙋🏼‍♀️
Here are my top 4 hip flexors stretches. Easy to do anywhere, every time your body needs.
👉🏼 4 different positions:
1️⃣ Standing
2️⃣ Setting
3️⃣ Kneeling
4️⃣ Lying (foam roller or a cushion)
My tips for these 4 stretches are: tuck the tailbone under and push the hips forward. And smile 😁. Feel good!
After a busy week working setting at the computer, my hip flexors were very tight that I needed to stretch my hips!
Who do you think would benefit from this post? Tag a friend to help him or her too. 💙

🔹3 tips on buying the right Pilates MAT🔹
Did you know most yoga mats simply are not appropriate to keep you comfortable and protected? When it comes to Pilates mats, there are a lot out there, and it could be hard choosing the right one. Having the right mat can really help!
So these are my 3 tips on buying the right Pilates mat:
1. Thickness: Pilates mats are generally thicker than yoga mats. It will be more comfortable for spinal rolling exercises as well as when you are on your stomach! The best thickness for pilates is over 10 mm (3/8 inch).
2. Size: It does matter! There are a lot of short aerobic and exercise mats out there that are far too short to use comfortably during Pilates. You don't want to find you have no mat beneath your head in a rollover!
3. Material Type: A high-density foam mat is what you are looking for to absorb impact and provide your body alignment and support. Another essential thing to consider is if it’s too stretchy. You don’t want to be slipping and sliding over and risking proper alignment.
Have fun shopping for your next Pilates Mat! I love my blue one 💙. Which color will you pick?

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I'm very excited for this week's Tuesday At the MAT video! Are you ready?
If you watched my stories today, I shared that I was very inspired this morning and taught a challenging group class 😁💪🏻. There is no better way to keep my students motivated than challenging their bodies safely and effectively.
So today's series is a delicious mix of challenge and feel-good exercises. Shoulder bridge + obliques + glute stretch. It sounds fantastic, doesn't it?
Like, share, or save to try later. Turn on the sound and follow me! Let me know how it went!
Have fun!

Hello Monday! What will you do for yourself this week?
I believe everybody has at least a few minutes per week to take care of their body and mind, even if they think they don't! What day and time will you workout this week? Write it down in your calendar!
I promise you that a little pilates in your week will change your mood! Give it a try!
Wish you all a wonderful week! 💪🏼

18/07/2020

Hello weekend! This week we have talked about planks. I shared on my stories my experience with planks and some tips.
I told you guys that planks don’t have to be boring! So today, I want to introduce you to the Leg Pull Front. The classical Mat Pilates plank!
The Leg Pull Front takes plank support a step further. By lifting one leg and shifting the body back and forward, you introduce instability that challenges the core, hips, and shoulders. Also, you will get a good calf and tendon stretch.
What else? Two-way stretch! This exercise is perfect for understanding the two-way stretch in pilates. How? Length the whole body and reach the crown of the head away from you while you shift your body back. You will definitely feel that!
Do you like planks??? I will love to know if I'm the only one. 😂
So drop a 👍🏻 if you do or 👎🏻 if you don't like planks in the comments below.

Am I the only one who likes planks? I never thought I would say that, but I do like planks! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤪
We all know planks are one of the best exercises to strengthen the core. But I have to confess that I hated planks before. They were hard and quite boring. Like 30 seconds took forever! 🥵
Okay! You won't like to hear this, but I gotta tell you: 👉🏼 If you struggle with an exercise, probably that's what your body needs most!
Pilates taught me that a plank doesn't have to be boring! Also, learning the correct body alignment make things way easier!
Check these pictures out. Are you doing planks correctly?
If you are willing to give planks a chance, give me a ❤️.

Imagine a beautiful swan 🦢. Visualize how long and elegant the swan’s neck is. Now keep that in mind for this week's Tuesday At the Mat series!
Challenge your back connection and core strength with two back extensions on the mat. The first one is a prep for the breaststroke, and the second one is the swan. Who will join me? 🙋🏼‍♀️
👉🏼 For both exercises, zip the inner thighs, engage the glutes and pull the belly in toward the spine and away from the mat. Focus on the length of the body: toes and crown of the head reaching toward opposite directions ↔️.
Try this series at home. I would love to know how it felt!

“I’m not flexible enough,” “My body is not strong,” “I have a weak core.”
Since I started teaching Pilates, I heard this countless times! This week a girlfriend said: “Camila, I love your posts, but Pilates isn’t for me. My body is so tight!”. Well... That's the reason why she should do Pilates!
Any new exercise can change your current relationship with your body and challenges your beliefs about what your body is capable of.
Trust the Pilates Method! Pilates will meet YOUR body’s needs. Pilates is an opportunity to change self-limiting beliefs that tend to hold people back from a better relationship with their body and how they feel!
I would love to know - What doesn't feel flexible or strong in your body?👇🏼

08/07/2020

Would you like to improve your plank position? If yes, that’s for you!
I have posted on my stories some tips to help you with wrist pressure and pain. One of the tips was related to the back engagement.
So here is an exercise I love working with my clients to help them to engage their back in planks, push ups or the Pilates Leg Pull.
It works the shoulders protraction and retraction. Notice that it is a small movement. 👉🏼 Set up your body: be aware of your alignment and stabilize your whole body. Slide your shoulder blades together and push away. Keep the elbows straight and the shoulders away from ears.
Try this a couple of times before practicing planks or all four position exercises. It will help you to connect your back and move more efficiently!
Would you like more tips like that? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Tuesday! Are you excited for this week’s Tuesday At the MAT video?
If you are my client, you already know that I'm a fan of the Roll Up. It tells a lot about your body! Core strength, low back mobility, hips stability, and flexibility.
This is a must try at home! Can't roll up?
👉🏼 Bend the knees and grab the back of the thighs. Keep the feet on the mat! Roll up while you extend the legs to help you.
Still have questions? Please ask! I would do my best to help you. Who will join me?!🙋🏼‍♀️
Have fun! 😁

Do you have forward head and shoulders?
We all sit in our desks, in our cars, and use our cell phones, with a round back position. Including myself! 🙋🏼‍♀️
The best exercises for our back and neck are done in a prone position. They are fabulous for our posture! They help us to open up the chest and strengthen the back.
These exercises challenge our thoracic spine extension. However, It's very common to compensate with the neck, creating neck tension.
An effective exercise creates challenges not discomfort! A good trick to avoid this is to keep the length of the back of the neck and connect the back muscles to lift the chest.
Compare these two photos. Are you doing that correctly? Tell me in the comments👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼.
