Life isn't always fair. Sometimes, we get hurt. People (sometimes, trusted people) give us the short end of the stick. We are left with so many question. Why did you do this to me...what did I do to deserve this...what made you act this way to me etc.

We believe if we find the answers, it would facilitate our healing. The truth though, is that more often than not, the information obtained from closure is not helpful. Sometimes, you may not even get closure.

The good news is that your healing is not dependent on the closure you get.

Don't wait for closure before you heal. It's possible. Want to know more? Ask me how

One of the biggest reservations I've come across when it comes to seeking professional help is "I just need to have more faith"

See, I get it...you've been a Christian your whole life, and you were taught that any mental health struggle is a weakness on your part, and you MUST increase your faith

Being a Christian myself, I won't downplay the role of faith practices (reading and meditating on scripture, worshipping, praying) in helping manage your mental health struggles...but there's a place for professional help too.

Searching for a psychologist who incorporates faith in mental health practice? Reach out in the DM let's get you started on your journey.

Even if you are not Christian, still reach out. I won't impose my beliefs on you🙂🙂🙂

Hello March!

In this month and beyond, remember to prioritize your mental health.

Your mind is a garden. Nurture it, and watch it blossom and bloom

Feelings. We all have them. Somehow, society says don't let anybody see it-you will be called weak.
We ignore our feelings and put up a front of feigned strength.

I was recently listening to a track on 's album...and a line from one of the tracks caught my attention
"𝔹𝕖𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕓𝕝𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕗𝕖𝕖𝕝 𝕞𝕪 𝕗𝕖𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕤 𝕓𝕦𝕥 𝕟𝕠𝕥 𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕟 𝕠𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕞"

It struck me- don't we usually ignore our feelings because we don't want to "depend" on them or be "defined" by them?

Feelings serve a purpose. Ignoring them does more harm than good. Knowing how to harness them is a strength, not a weakness.

As you go through this week, month and year, purpose to become comfortable feeling your feelings. Experience them learn from them. Grow through them. Feeling stuck? Seek professional mental health services to help you figure it out

And if you are a Christian like me, hand them over to the Holy Spirit to refine them. You are fearfully and wonderfully made- feelings inclusive

One of the greatest threats to our mental well-being are the thoughts we believe.
These thoughts come from within (our internal dialogue) and without (the things people say to us)

But! the fact that you think a thought doesn't mean you MUST believe it. You get to choose.

So, choose not to believe every thought just because it has popped up in your mind. Process it...explore it...check it for truth and accuracy.
Discard false thoughts and move on.

If they are true but unpleasant, work on them.

If they are true and pleasant, pat yourself at the back.
Remember to mind your mind😁😁

Sometimes, life gets tough. Goals seem to take forever to get accomplished. Targets are missed. Plans get distorted.

Sadness, worthlessness and hopelessness start to creep in.

Worry about what the future holds threatens to take over.

But, it doesn't have to end. Yes, it may take longer. Yes, you may have to restrategise. Yes, you may have to reroute... But don't totally give up on life.

Keep moving. Pause if you must, but don't throw in the towel.

What you become is important, but so is who you become. Keep building!

When we think "relaxation", our mind usually goes to an all expense paid trip to a vacation destination.

While that is a great way to relax, it is not the only way to do this, especially if you are at work or at school and feeling stressed or tense.

There are different techniques that can be used to ease the tension being experienced.

A simple one is a breathing exercise. This takes a small amount of time and can be done anywhere.

Go on, take a few seconds to practise this exercise. Breathe out the tension and stress, breath in relaxation.

In my personal life, I've realised that some of my greatest mental struggles have come from worrying about things I cannot change. Turning those struggles over to God have brought me untold peace.

Am I saying all mental health challenges/struggles/problems are as a result of faithlessness? No! Not at all

Am I also saying that if you experience mental health challenges, it is because you are not practising your faith? Also no...

So what am I saying? I'm saying that no matter how hard you try, some things will be beyond your control. There is no point in worrying over the outcome of events/things you cannot change. By all means, give it your best shot. After that, leave it in the hands of God.

DISCLAIMER: If you are not a Christian and you feel this does not apply to you, that's fine. The goal is not to force my beliefs on you.
This is for Christians who sometimes struggle with anxiety over the unknown. Cheers!😊😊
