Mana Mantra is 4 hours long yoga & mindfulness event where me and my beautiful colleague, Līga Vanaga (fitness trainer, dancer & photo&video maker) will offer you vinyasa yoga & yoga dance flow classes; breath work practice with focus on releasing and letting go and a winding down meditation time.

Mana Mantra mini-retreat is an opportunity to take a break and dive deep into yourself, your heart and your body while physically being located in the Heart of Old Town Riga.

One more year around sun for me and another year full of blessings and miracles.
THANK YOU MY BRAIN HEART FOR TAKING ME WHERE I AM TODAY.

My every pain, every heartbreak, loss or disappointment has been a trampoline to a new beautiful stage, growth, life-changing event and expanded horizon.

1. With on the day of my 500 hrs Registered Hatha Yoga teacher graduation with in Greece. It cannot be put in words how transformative this time has been 🙏🏻

7. On Saturdays whenever I am in Riga. Full-house fitness classes with these sexy amazing people.

8. September 2022. European road trip all the way from Riga to Croatia through Poland, Checz Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Slovenia. A dream came true of a hike in the Italian Alps.

9. Paris 2022 Live Event. Time of deep talks, deep dives-in and connection with like-minded people.

10. November 16, Paris 2022. Life has magically demonstrated its ability to show miracles through a person I just met who gave me the best birthday experience I ever had in my life (yet!).

In childhood we were taught to say “magic words thank you" in return when we received something.
Ancient myths and legends say that to bring forth magic a person must first say “magic words”.
Indeed, the more you think, feel and say magic words “thank you” the more gratitude you feel. You start feeling better of the sense of gratitude alone.

Brene Brown discovers that there was not one person who described themselves as joyful who did not also have an active practice of gratitude. She says: “it's not joy that makes us grateful. It's gratitude that makes us joyful”.

How often do we notice the things around us we should be grateful for? Sunny mornings, clean streets, a smile on the face of a stranger, our favorite drink in the morning prepared by a barista in the coffee shop, lovely compliments from our co-workers… nice things to be grateful for are all around us but how often do we notice them? We miss so many moments to feel joy and be in present magic moment.

Yoga teacher L.Eckström says: “The reality is we all know the science of gratitude at this point. The media and clinical research have made it clear that gratitude works".Gratitude is the bridge from where you are now to the life of your dreams. When you say “thank you” you at the same time say “more of this please”.

On Sunday, October 23rd, we will start a 21-day long gratitude practice with focus on what you have now and what you have received in the past and we also will practice the magical power of gratitude for the things that we desire and that are yet to come.

Every day you will receive a new gratitude practice and journaling exercise that will bring you through this practice of magic. It will change your days in a very positive way!
Along with the challenge you will be supported by free live yoga and meditation classes, as well as interviews where my colleagues, yoga teachers, will share their experiences on the practice of gratitude.

Don't listen to that which thinks.
Listen to that, which knows.
If you cannot hear that which knows it is probably because that which thinks is too loud.

Your emotions are the slaves of your thoughts and you are the slave of your emotion.
You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes
every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind. That's the only thing you should be trying to control.

The resting place of the mind is your heart. The only place the mind will ever find peace is inside the silence of the heart. That's where you need to go.

My beautiful colleagues have already said a lot about Mental Health yesterday. You've learned statistics, numbers, distribution, risks, where to go, where to call... But what we need to know is that we create a mental hell in our life ourselves by our thoughts and the way we are responding to the unwanted things happening to us. Yoga, mindfulness and meditation are timeless practices as some of the ways to learn peace of mind and resistance to whatever life throws at us.

Natarajasana (Dancer Pose or Lord of the Dance Pose) is a deep backbend that requires patience, focus, and persistence. The pose is named after the Hindu god Shiva Nataraja, King of the Dance, who finds bliss in the midst of destruction. Like its namesake, Lord of the Dance Pose embodies finding steadying calm within.

Dancer’s Pose is a heart-opening standing asana that helps to build strength, balance and flexibility. Besides training of the balance, it strengthens ankles, calves, quads, stretches spine and legs, opens shoulders and chest. Myself, I have never been a dancer before but this asana makes me feel so graceful and beautiful.
How to do Dancer’s Pose:
Begin in Tadasana (Mountain Pose). Shift your weight into your left leg and lift your right leg, Draw your right heel toward your right buttock. Find balance and stability by grounding the sole of your left foot.
Reach back with your right hand and grip the outside of your right foot or ankle. Extend your left arm ahead. Continue to rotate your right hip bone forward and gently pull your knee towards the midline.
Press the top of your right foot into your right hand. Allow your right thigh and knee to extend behind you parallel to the floor. Direct the sole of your right foot towards the sky. Reach your left arm forward or up.
Repeat on the second side.
Some suggested preparatory poses are upward god, sphinx or cobra, bow.
In the beginning if you’re feeling off balance, try this pose standing near a wall for support. You may also start with a standing one leg quad stretch and build from there. If you cannot reach back and grip the foot, use a strap over your ankle.

Last weekend I was invited to teach yoga at a bridal party :)
You see, I always say I teach more than yoga - I teach love.
Yoga class at a bridal party is a real celebration of love!

However, romantic love is just a part of that love yoga teaches about.

Yoga teaches us to open your heart towards yourself primarily.

It is about self-acceptance, self-love, love towards yourself the way you are created. As there is a purpose for why you are the way you are. Self-love is a game changer as it opens your heart to the other one and to the whole world. Through accepting your own struggles and covering your own hardships with self-love you do the same for another one and so to the other world. Your heart then is OPEN.

Open to give another try. Open to give another chance. Open to get into other’s shoes.

We live in the world where we are taught to be careful, to be skeptical, to be scared; we are taught that love breaks your heart and that it takes it all once you let it in.

We don’t know that love knocks on the door. We never think it awaits outside, patiently waiting for us to be ready and open. It only comes once you let it in.

This is what I teach when I teach yoga. And each time I teach this I teach this to myself too no less than to all other of my students.

It has been a magical time and a beautiful heart-opening yoga class. Together, we loved.

I teach more than yoga, I teach love.

August must be shed slowly, like pear liquor.
Pour into a small glass, drink a drop, and look through the glass at the sun.
August nights should be diluted with candle lights, milk poured into a cup for a brownie, purring a cat and the chatter of grasshoppers.
August days should be laid between the pages of books, like bookmarks, in order to then shake out their heat in the dank November of taking this book from the shelf.

Thursdays are the days when I hear yogic greetings "Namaste" from my CGI colleagues instead of a regular "Let me share my screen" or "You are on mute" :)

How many companies do you know that are taking care of well-being of their employees? Many companies provide insurance coverage of sports activities, some organize training sessions.. but how many of them are taking mental health seriously?

Every Thursday I teach yoga and meditation as a part of CGI Well-being Program to my international colleagues and I am happy to see that these sessions are popular and well-attended. I am also happy to observe that my colleagues are aware of the necessity of taking care of their well-being and mental health and that they know the tools they can use for their personal self-care.

And I love the moments when my colleagues from Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Poland and Latvia are sending virtual hearts and applauds to me at the end of each session and I love hearing their beautiful "Namaste". This is an absolutely another kind of level of connection.

Last summer we met on the beach every Friday night to “yoga” together.

There is something magical in these moments of flow, movements and breath blending together with the sound of the sea and view of endless water and sky turning it into healing alchemy, mind, body and heart alchemy.

When practice was done, we were jumping in the sea and watching sunset.
After the sunset we would go the beachbar and sit there at least until midnight, talking, laughing, listening to the sound of the sea and watching the stars. Strangers once we became friends.

These kind of moments are precious. We live to experience and create moments like these.
Alan Watts once said: “The time that we have, use it for happinness. Just be happy”.

And these moments were happinness.

We continue this summer as well.

And if the weather will keep us away from open-air yoga, I will be waiting for you under the roof of the nearby cafe for more of happy moments and future happy memories.

Every Friday, 19.30, Pumpuri Beach. We gather at Fideļa Papa beach cafe.

What is the greatest lesson every woman should learn… is that since day one she has everything she need within her. It’s the world that convinced her she did not. Rupi Kaur. You are enough. How often do you meet yourself - you, real you, without your status and role in the society, without the conditions and standards of your environment? Do you understand who you really are, how much you really are? Yoga taught me that I am amazing the way I am. Yoga taught me that I already have everything. It is there, inside me. I just have to find time to learn to hear myself. And Yoga time is the time when I do. Listen closely. There is a place in you that loves. There is a place in you that accepts. And where do you want to be?

Stop for a moment. Push a pause button.

Times of escape or isolation often marked moments of personal transition, growth, transformation, evolution and discovery. When we fail to pause and step away from the usual pace of life, we miss out on the important insights a period of self-reflection can bring. Think about famous people or big minds - how much of their genius works have been created in an “escape” during the time of their retreat.

Retreat means “a place of safety,” a “period for meditation or study.”

How do we spend our time in a retreat?
We practice yoga twice a day, we breathe, meditate, immerse ourselves in nature and the beauty of the environment around us. We relax, we eat well, we spend all our time outside in a group of like-minded people. We eat, we laugh, we enjoy life.

A journey in a search of everything - a journey to yourself. A truly magical week of yoga, breathing, meditation, exploring, connection and complete immersion in Greek culture and indescribable hospitability.

It’s impossible to put into the words everything that happens in a yoga retreat.
Life is generous. WHEN IT BECOMES TOUGH

Life brings challenges to everyone’s doorstep. Everyone has them. For many of us a regular yoga practice is very helpful when it comes to navigating life’s ups and downs. But with so much uncertainty in the world and so busy schedules as well as family or financial circumstances not everyone is able to find the time and space for daily practice.
Citta Prasadanam (Sanskrit “keeping an uplifted outlook”). is a very simple practice that can be done anytime, anyplace and by anyone. There are many ways to practice it, but one way is simply to remind yourself that no matter how bad things have gotten at various points in your life or human history—wars, financial crises, illnesses -- there are always good things that are coming with them.
Sounds banal? But if you think.. your greatest challenges always reveal your greatest abilities.
So when the challenges arrive… let us not allow fear, discouragement or negativity, but instead look for the opportunities. This is what citta prasadanam is all about.
I hope you will remember to practice keeping a sweet and uplifted outlook in the midst of your challenges, because you never know what they might inspire you to create, or who you might help as a result.

THE POWER OF SITTING
We spend a lot of time sitting which puts a strain on the muscles supporting our spine, and freezes up our hips. This sitting makes a seated meditation asana more uncomfortable, thus our meditation is less powerful in bringing us into the present moment. Maintaining what should be a neutral and natural upright position consequently becomes tiring and painful during our yoga practice.
Yogic sitting empowers us to build our resilience and develop discipline in our practice, it enables us to be with our feelings and experiences in order to release them. In order to deepen our seated meditation practice and re-align our physical bodies, thereby creating open channels for spiritual alignment, our asana practice can strengthen our spines and increase the flexibility of our hips. This will make our seated meditation practice more physically sustainable and spiritually empowering.
From a more spiritual perspective, intentional sitting is a gift to ourselves. By taking the time to sit with our feelings, to acknowledge them, we realize that all they really want is to be felt so that they can move on. When we sit 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, when we set our feelings aside to deal with later, they eventually manifest as health issues.
