Paschimottanasana or forward fold
There are a lot of wrong ways of doing this amazing asana that needs to be done daily, whether you are a sportsperson or a couch potato or sitting on your desk all day.
This is considered to be one of the most important asanas in yoga because it stretches your whole length of muscles in the back side of the body when done properly.
It is also a great stress relieving pose. Just take out one minute in a day and hang upside down for better physical and mental health.

Wheel pose or Chakrasana
Life seems to come a full circle when i returned to these same old mountains. So this pose seemed apt for this moment.
One day i want to take classes on top of mountains and with such beautiful sun.
This too shall happen along with so many other beautiful things! The “Rab di mehr“ happening in the form of that ray of sun gives me some kind of inner joy and strength.
Till then the chakra or circle of life goes on.

Trying different inversions

For the love of it.

Also, did you know,
Inversions increase the blood flow to the brain, giving it more oxygen and nutrients and making the brain function faster and better. This improves concentration, memory, observation and boosts clear thinking.
So, let’s keep practicing.

P.S. Use your props (wall, yoga blocks, straps, bolster)

So, finally i found and made a small corner for myself in our new temporary abode here in Zurich.
Felt so good after the mindful practice even though it was interrupted in the end by my two munchkins. ❤️
In fact it was made even more fulfilling by the interruption. Makes me realise how grateful i am for these hugs, kisses and laughs.
What are you grateful for? Write down 1, 2 or 3 things that make your day beautiful in the comments. I promise you it will feel amazing, no matter how you might be feeling. It is strange that even thinking about being grateful for something can bring joy. When i discovered this joy for myself i realised what a huge thing i was missing in life till that moment.
My moment is right here on the camera. ❤️💕

Hey yogis! I know that i have been missing from Instagram for some time now. I was in the process of moving continents.
Even though i was practicing yoga on and off it was hard to film it and post it in all the mess.

Today i took my daughter to a park for play time but ended up doing some yoga on the side and luckily it got filmed because i was filming my daughter doing her thing.
So normally it is her, dropping and bombing into my videos. This is the other way around. Hope you enjoy it! Since you all keep waiting to see her in the videos.

Last time i showed you how to do a hatha suryanamaskar. This is the ashtanga yoga suryanamaskar A.
You can try both and see which one you like better.
Maybe some days you like the strong chaturanga one or maybe some days you are in a mood to do a slow, long hatha suryanamaskar.
I often even mixed the two picking up what i like from each.
Yoga is your own journey for your own body. You decide and discover what you like. ❤️

Balance and stability.
Our core provides us balance, stability and strength.
What do you understand by core muscles? I am not talking about just the abs.

The major muscles of your core include your
- transverse abdominis,
-multifidus,
-internal and external obliques,
-erector spinae,
-diaphragm,
-pelvic floor muscles,
-and your abs, the re**us abdominis.
Your minor core muscles include your
-lats,
-traps, and
- glutes.
So, now you know how much does it require from your body to balance?
Do you appreciate your body now for helping you stand erect and walk without falling?
Even when we are not able to take care of this marvellous machine optimally, it gives us so much support.
So try and take care of it a little bit.
