Most people don’t realize your jaw and pelvis are linked. Not just through posture or movement habits, but through your developmental blueprint.

Around day 15 of embryonic development, two critical areas begin to form: the oropharyngeal membrane, which becomes the mouth, and the cloacal membrane, which becomes the openings of the digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.

The spine grows between them establishing a physical and neurological connection that lasts your entire life.
This connection continues through fascia and the central nervous system. The dural tube, which surrounds and protects the spinal cord, creates a continuous communication pathway from your jaw down to your sacrum.

When there’s tension or misalignment in the jaw whether from clenching, TMJ dysfunction, or altered bite it changes head posture. Your body compensates to keep balance, often by tilting the pelvis or shifting your weight.

Over time, these small changes can show up as chronic hip pain, pelvic instability, or forward head posture.
There’s also a functional link: the jaw and pelvic floor are both involved in how your body stabilizes the spine. They’re part of your core system.

If your jaw is clenched, chances are your pelvic floor is either overactive or not firing properly. This affects posture, breath control, and how your nervous system regulates tension.

Posture isn’t just a matter of standing tall. It’s a full-body coordination between systems that started forming before you were even born.

This person lets call her ‘A’ had a massage with me in April when she was visiting in town at an Airbnb along the lake. She has been thinking about my heavenly massages ever since then!! This past weekend I took 2 advanced classes, head and neck & arm and hand. Y’all these new moves are pure magic 🪄🪄🪄🪄
Not only did I learn more advanced moves for your muscles and bones, but I also now know how to work with your nerves directly to change them with how they sit in your fascia so your nervous system can truly feel relaxed. This work is absolutely amazing.

New research behind spinal injections, proves that they could not be effective.

Thinking about getting injections for back pain? You may want to reconsider.

New research suggests these widely used treatments are no more effective than placebos, despite their increasing popularity and high costs. A panel of experts has reviewed the practice and raised serious concerns about its effectiveness and financial incentives driving its use.

Back pain is a global health issue affecting millions, leading to disability and economic strain. Many turn to spinal injections, such as epidural steroid shots and nerve blocks, for relief. However, a recent study published in The BMJ analyzed 81 trials with nearly 8,000 participants and found no strong evidence that these procedures provide significant pain relief.

Despite the lack of proof, the demand for spinal injections continues to grow. Researchers suspect that confirmation bias plays a role—doctors who administer these treatments often report more favorable results. Financial incentives may also be a factor, as these procedures generate substantial revenue.

This disconnect between research and practice raises concerns about the overuse of ineffective interventions. Experts recommend shifting focus toward evidence-based treatments, such as physical therapy, exercise, and cognitive behavioral therapy, which have shown better long-term results in managing chronic back pain. Healthcare systems may need to reconsider funding spinal injections in favor of approaches that truly improve patients’ quality of life.
