Cold exposure could help fight cancer. WE REPEAT. Cold exposure can slow down cancer tumour growth 💥

Most cancers use glycolysis to harness energy for their infinite growth and invasion.
Cold exposure may slow down tumour growth by activating brown adipose tissue (BAT). This process reduces blood glucose, cutting off the energy supply that many cancers rely on through glycolysis.

In this study, tumour-bearing mice exposed to cold conditions showed significant tumour reduction, even in aggressive cancers like pancreatic cancer.

The findings suggest that cold exposure or BAT activation via the cold could be a promising new approach in cancer therapy.

At the same time, your body is triggering the release of endorphins. This is why you're here. That natural "feel-good" chemical. This World Mental Health Day, we wanted to reflect on the benefits of the cold on the mind 🤍

Personally, we've heard some incredible success stories from our Monk community on how the cold improves their stress, anxiety and depressive moods.

Scientifically, cold water therapy is an expanding field of interest in mental health treatment. It's seen growing curiosity and research that confirms the physiological responses - the release of norepinephrine and endorphins - that reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Acting like anti-depressants. It also activates the vagus nerve, which helps regulate mood and stress levels.

It's thrilling to see CWT become more commonly considered as another tool to combat mental health 🧊
