With deepest sorrow, we share the news of the passing of Ma’am Melanie Dela Fuente Marquez, former President of the Society of Medical Physicists in the Republic of the Philippines (SMPRP). May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Ma’am Mel was a dedicated leader, mentor, and advocate for the advancement of medical physics in the Philippines. Her unwavering commitment, gentle guidance, and kind spirit have left a lasting legacy in the hearts of her colleagues, students, and the broader medical physics community.

SEAFOMP extends our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved former president, Melanie Dela Fuente Marquez, who peacefully departed this life on July 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Ma’am Mel was a devoted leader who, despite her courageous battle with cancer, remained unwavering in her commitment to serve. She was a cherished member of the community and will be fondly remembered for her vibrant energy, enduring kindness, remarkable strength, and selfless service.

Her legacy of compassion and dedication has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorial service will be held at Room 407 St. Peter Memorial Chapel, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City on July 17-19, 2025.

We ask that you keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
