Unwind and stretch beyond limits! 🧘‍♀️.

Stretching is more important than you think - it can improve athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, boost mental health, correct posture and increase flexibility and range of motion. Embrace the power of stretching!

Pro tip: stretch between intervals during your work. Stand up, move around a bit and do some stretching.

Static stretching is a type of stretching exercises in which the elongation of muscles has a longer duration (usually 30 sec). It helps with relaxation and increases range of motion (ROM).

But does it help in preventing injury? Well…it really depends if its happening right before your exercise or throughout your day.

The evidence shows that performing static stretching exercises before sports activities lead to decreased performance and increase the risk of injury - from the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, “Does Stretching Improve Performance?: A Systematic and Critical Review of the Literature”

Instead, dynamic warm-up exercises that mimic the movements of the specific sport or activity have been shown to be more effective in reducing the risk of injury.

Next time you stretch for a warm up, try dynamic stretching.
