The holidays can be a wonderful and stressful time. ☃️✈️💰

You've got all the events, and dinners to plan, cook, and or attend, and FAMILY.
Maybe you all get along well, or perhaps there's this underlining tension that's never quite gotten resolved. 😵‍💫

In any case, coupled with the mental taxation we create, then there's the EATING.
Whether it's all the events, dinners, and emotional eating if you don't watch it, another 5-10 lbs will be on your frame come January 1st. 😂

Although I'm happy to help with the mental, I'm also now launching a weight-loss component to my business. 💥👩‍⚕️

When I was younger there wasn't the level of Personal Development/Self Help tools, books and speakers there is today.
One of the first books I read on the subject back in the day was this man's work.

M. Scott Peck was an American psychiatrist and best-selling author who wrote several books on psychology and spirituality, including The Road Less Traveled and People of the Lie. His books have sold over 60 million copies worldwide and have been translated into over 30 languages.

Peck's work is characterized by its focus on the importance of self-awareness, personal growth, and spiritual development. He believed that the path to a meaningful and fulfilling life is one that is characterized by love, courage, and discipline.
So true!

Here are some insights from Peck's books: 📚

✨ The road less traveled is the one that leads to growth and transformation. The easy path is often the one that leads to mediocrity and stagnation. If we want to grow and change, we need to be willing to take the road less traveled.

✨ We all have the capacity for both good and evil. It is up to us to choose which side of our nature we will express. We can choose to be loving, compassionate, and kind, or we can choose to be selfish, cruel, and destructive.

As humans it feels better to blame someone or something else.

Until you decide YOU are in control of everything you think about, you will feel victimized by everything and everyone.

Doing the work to get out of this mindset can be as easy as ONE decision.

Stay in your comfort yet uncomfortable zone OR do the hard work to improve.

If done with proper communication, mutual respect and setting boundaries it can be a great tool for enhancing things in the bedroom. 🤯

Abuse it and it can ruin a great many relationships and place unrealistic expectations on the partner.

Here's a few ways too much po*******hy can be detrimental to a relationship.

1) Decreased intimacy and emotional connection: Excessive p**n use can lead to unrealistic expectations of s*x.

2) Decreased s*xual satisfaction: Excessive p**n use can lead to comparing fantasy with one's partner, as it creates a need for more intense and extreme s*xual experiences.

3) Reduced attraction to partner: Excessive p**n use can reduce attraction to one's partner, as the brain becomes desensitized to s*xual stimuli.

4) Difficulty achieving arousal in males. Excessive p**n use can cause difficulty achieving or maintaining an er****on, known as p**n-induced erectile dysfunction.

5) Decreased trust and communication: P**n use can lead to a partner feeling "less than", creating feelings of betrayal and making it difficult to connect on a deeper level.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard the word "anxiety" I could buy a retirement home in Italy.

I'm not a therapist or counselor, and some of you are not going to like this, but anxiety doesn't "happen" to you.

YOU make it happen with your thoughts.

This has been said a million times in a million different ways, and having had panic and anxiety attacks before in my life, I know it was what I was focusing on at the time.
Not someone else or something else, but ME.

Some women I know over 50 are still trying to find husband number 2, 3 or 4.
Some men over 50 would like to be wed again.

I found this Psychology Today article enlightening. 🧐

Perhaps if you're in the same over 50 demographic and flying solo, you might enjoy it too.
