🚨We are taking a break!

Teresa and I have loved sharing this space for the past couple of years and helping support and inspire women to be the best version of themselves. We’d like to thank you for your support and interaction.

To be honest it’s been hard. Teresa and I are both working busy mothers and fitting SHESeeks in has been tricky. Health is our passion and sharing our knowledge and habits has been fun and rewarding in its own way.

We have decided to take a break from SHESeeks to connect with what lights us up and to work on our own individual projects/enterprises in the background.

How many chews can you do??

This week we launched a free 14 day nutrition challenge. Each day the group get to learn a new nutrition skill and can participate in a fun challenge.

Yesterday we started the challenge with arguably, the most important nutrition skill there is!

EAT SLOWLY AND MINDFULLY.

Eating slowly is one of the core practices of our coaching.

Practice it for the next 14 days, you may be surprised by the results!
WHY?

Slow eating helps us:

· eat less without feeling deprived.
· improves digestion.
· allows us to recognise our hunger and satiety cues.
· eat foods that need to really be chewed.
· enjoy flavours and textures.

Each skill might seem a little basic, but honestly, we really need to get the basic stuff done right!

Nutrition and dieting can be overwhelming, confusing and rigid. It's often why diets end up in the too hard basket.

I love Nourish Bowls because they are not only delicious but they are a perfect example of building a plate complete with healthy carbs, fats, non starchy vege and protein.

This one has black rice, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, chickpeas, avocado and shredded chicken with some fresh herbs on top complete with a good fat mayo.

🏆 What a year for SHESeeks Health!

We are so incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished with this page and our business. And want to thank you all for your support. 💕

Teresa and I have had many times this year when we questioned what we were doing and doubted ourselves. BUT we have each other’s backs and when we leaned in and looked closely, we realised that we believe in what we do and the courses we run are truely valuable and make a difference in women’s lives. And we have so much fun doing what we do!

All of the wonderful messages and comments we’ve received helped us push on in times of doubt and we are so proud to have decided to switch things up and focus in on our passion; nutrition and health, which led us to successfully deliver our first 2 What to Eat Programs to some amazing women.

We received so much positive feedback with participants being able to view eating healthy in a much simpler way, having more knowledge around how to incorporate shifts into daily routines to eating healthier more consistently with a personalised plan rather than a one style fits all approach.

We are both excited to deliver more recipes, more motivation and online courses next year, kicking off with a free 14-day online nutrition challenge that aims at giving you the tools to eat better consistently. The challenge will take place in a private Facebook group.

You ate all the food and drank all the champagne and had the best time with family and friends. 🙌🏽 Yessss that’s Christmas and that’s what makes it the best time of the year.

But if you are like me and now feeling a little swollen, a little bloated, tired and sluggish here’s how to support your body to recover and feel better.

1. No regrets!
2. Rehydrate with water
3. Eat some nourishing high vibe food.
4. Nurture your gut health with fibre and probiotic-rich food.
5. Take some gentle exercise like walking or yoga.

Having a good relationship with food means you don’t have to stress about what you eat when you are on holidays.
There’s no room for guilt or shame when you are simply enjoying food and drinks with friends and family.
It doesn’t mean that your good nutrition habits need to be thrown out the window.
I’m on holiday in Ireland, and I’ll be enjoying Guinness, soda bread and desserts.
But here’s what I can do…
Start the day with a high protein, nutrient-dense breakfast.
This helps to keep a nice, stable energy throughout the day and you’re less likely to over eat & reach for sugary snacks - this results in feeling tired anyway!!
I went to Tesco and bought chia seeds, oats, high protein yoghurt, peanut butter, almonds and Brazil nuts.

Do you use food for a reward and reach for chocolates or sugary lollies as an instant prize? This is so common and so many of us do it.

Sometimes when you use food in this way, it can lead to a vicious cycle of shame and reward.

Learning to nourish your body and enjoy food without emotional hunger brings balance and a healthy relationship with food.

I used to eat mud cake from supermarkets for morning tea and snickers bars after lunch on a daily basis in my twenties. But as I started to change my mindset and my lifestyle, now I enjoy healthy treats that taste delicious and I know that I’m feeding my body what it needs to ultimately make me feel good.

That was a long story to get to the point that these bars are based on ‘s recipe; I just added Carson and turmeric for an extra boost.
