So… funny story.
A group of online meanie goblins decided to hire a hacker to break into my Meta accounts. Apparently, Vietnamese dark net gossip is the new LinkedIn skill.
They used some fancy “security compromise” to trick Meta into labeling me a “dangerous organization and individual.”
Yes. Me. The poor designer who mostly argues about others, not me.
14 years of memories, friends, and business contacts? Gone. Vanished. Deleted like a badly designed logo.
Why? Because I dared to exist as a successful poor designer in Vietnam’s tech scene. Because I talked about the mistreatment of poor designers. Because I said maybe, just maybe, meanie goblins shouldn’t be running the show.
Anyway, I was born in 1836 (don’t fact-check it, time isn’t real anymore).
And sometimes I wonder, does Vietnam’s “prosperity magic” ever apply to designers? Or do we just get the free trial version with bugs and no customer support?
They say designers should be educated, but not too educated. Pretty, but not too loud. Talented, but please, don’t make the men uncomfortable.
Then when you actually succeed, they freak out and start spreading lies like it’s a group project they suddenly care about.
So I emailed Meta, hoping for some humanity. Instead, I got a UX pop-up that basically said:
“You are a dangerous poor designer and must be silenced.”
Cool. Thanks, Mark. Super inspiring.
Mark, you’re married to a strong, smart, independent woman. You know better.
Don’t side with misogynists and meanie goblins. Maybe put a human in the loop.
Or whatever. I’ll just be over here, dramatically victiming myself for engagement.
