"I’m so proud of Zoie for choosing to be an organ donor. I only had her in this earthly world for 19 short years. But oh the love we have. My girl still lives in my heart and soul. I am thankful that in her death she was able to give life to others in need. Her heart, liver, kidneys, and intestines live on in others. It was very hard to lose my girl but seeing all the lives she saved, it makes my heart so full of awe. Zoie, we love you and miss you every second of every day. You are my hero and I’m so proud of you."

Meet Autumn. At two months old, Autumn was diagnosed with end-stage liver failure and put on the transplant waiting list. After months of waiting, a donor liver match was found in January 2021. Autumn underwent a successful transplant and has since recovered well, expressing gratitude to her donor for the gift of life.

From the smallest heroes to the bravest fighters, this week is all about honoring the resilience of our pediatric transplant recipients and their families.

"This is my beautiful wife, Joanne. She was in heart failure to the point it was only pumping at about 17% or less for a very long time. She had a major heart attack last year. Her heart was done. She had to have a pump inserted in her artery and was confined to the hospital until they could find a donor.

Her HERO turned out to be a 23-year-old woman from Mississippi. Without her selfless decision to be a donor, I really don’t know if the love of my life would be here today. Donors are the biggest heroes! I thank the lord for her (along with all donors) decision to donate her organs every day." - Tim H.

Remembering Kameron.

Kameron's decision to become an organ donor after losing his driver's license showcases the power of selflessness and generosity. In just a short time, his choice to update his license had a profound impact on the lives of others, turning into a remarkable gift of life.

This act of kindness reflects Kameron's character and highlights the ripple effect of giving. Shawn Steinhoff's poignant words capture the essence of Kameron's nature - a person who quietly cared for others, extending his kindness beyond his own life.

It's a reminder of the lasting impact one individual can have through a simple yet meaningful gesture like organ donation.

Today we remember Kameron Steinhoff, whose spirit continues to soar, may his legacy inspire others to embrace the gift of life through organ donation. 💙

The family of a teenager who died following a crash in Lehi last weekend said his legacy is living on after his organs were donated to several people. Zeke Gordon, 17, was riding a home-built motorcycle when he hit a pickup truck.

"Zeke was raised to know that (the) responsibility is ours to help others...He had just received his driver's license not too long prior to this accident, where he did check YES to ....To us, he is truly a hero and is living on." - Jennifer Hall, Zeke's aunt

We are all damaged. We have all been hurt. We have all had to learn painful lessons. We are all recovering from some mistake, loss, betrayal, abuse, injustice or misfortune. All of life is a process of recovery that never ends. We each must find ways to accept and move through the pain and to pick ourselves back up. For each pang of grief, depression, doubt or despair, there is an inverse toward renewal coming to you in time. Each tragedy is an announcement that some good will indeed come in time. Be patient with yourself.

“I received my first liver transplant in 2006 and eventually developed a blood clot, which caused me to need another liver transplant in 2021. I lost a lot of muscle mass and looked like I was nine months pregnant.

By the time I went into the hospital waiting for my second transplant, my kidneys were shutting down, and they gave me a week to live. I received my liver in one day and almost died from surgery. I was down to 124 lbs. and in the hospital, recovering for 73 days. Despite it all, I’m very blessed. I praise God, and I love my donors and their families.” - Thomas

The gift of life is something that no recipient can ever express enough gratitude for.
We must never forget our donors and the gift that they and their families have given us.

"This is the last post anyone wants to make.

This past Thanksgiving my littlest sister, Alysia, took her last natural breath on this earth. This last week has been one of the worst.

Her contribution to this world was immeasurable. She gave the gift of life to three people and she was called a hero. She was honored and her life meant something!

Someone received a new lease on life and real soon two other lives will start new journeys. If there would have been matches for others, she could have given to many more.

Right now, I'm asking everyone to say a prayer that everything goes smooth for the recipients. That their bodies will not only accept these new organs, but also thrive with them!"

"Christopher loved helping others. He loved being a husband and dad more than anything. He loved his job. He just loved life so much. His gift saved at least 4 lives. He would be so proud of himself. I am proud of him. He was such an amazing person."
