One of my favourite ways to reflect on my progress! 😌👌🏻

A Wellness Wheel is a tool and visual guide that helps one assess all aspects of their wellness. For example, your Wellness Wheel may change throughout the year and look different from that of your friends or family members! The important part is to learn something new about yourself each time you complete the Wellness Wheel.

Simply go through each section of the wheel and reflect on how you are doing in that aspect of life. You can even incorporate some structure for evaluating it such as a scale from 1 to 10, or in percentage %, etc. There is plenty of space for creativity in how you want to work with your wheel!

You can also add and replace different sections on the wheel depending on what you would like to bring awareness to in your life.

Revisit your wheel on a weekly monthly or yearly basis to track your journey.

A sense of wholeness can be achieved by consciously and mindfully making choices that contribute towards a more balanced/healthy self.

Pay close attention to the choices you make regarding:
* Your body.. Do you exercise and move enough? Do you give your body rest when it needs it? Etc.
* Your breath.. Do you hold your breath? Does your breath flow naturally and freely? Etc.
* Your mind.. Is your mind calm or cluttered? What do you do to have a clear mind? Etc.
* Your diet.. Do you eat healthily? Does your body receive enough nutrients? Etc.
* Your lifestyle.. Does your lifestyle support your healthy version of yourself? Is it stressful? Etc.
* Your environment.. Does your environment support healthy living? Is it toxic? Etc.

Note what benefits you and supports your journey towards wholeness and what doesn't and start making conscious decisions to make a change 👌🏻

It is important to include moments of joy into your daily life 🤍

It can sometimes be big or it can be something very small, it doesn't matter!

What matters is that it makes you feel happy, uplifted, joyful and fulfilled 🙏🏻

What joyful moment did you have today? Are you already planning one for tomorrow??

Making yourself happy is a gesture of self-love. Remember you can have as much love as you wish, it all depends on how compassionately you treat yourself on a daily basis!

Some believe in the power of affirmation and some don't. I don't blame you, at the end of the day it is tiring sometimes to say something to yourself that feels like it is not true because you are not feeling that way.

I invite you to see self-love affirmations as a compliments that you are telling yourself because you love yourself and you want to encourage yourself to feel better 🙏🏻 At the end of the day we all enjoying receiving heartwarming complements from others, so why not give to ourselves as many as we want? 😍

08/09/2023

For many people currently following a transcendent philosophy the term “ego” has become almost a dirty word. One heard a great deal of talk in the New Age movement, for example, about “getting rid of” or “letting go of” the ego. The ego is designated as our enemy, the part that tries to keep us from embracing our spiritual awareness - and any effort to even suggest that the ego has any value is seen as nothing more than the ego fighting to justify itself. Unfortunately, this belief simply deepens the confusion and fear.

By treating the ego as our enemy, we unwittingly create an adversarial thought system, a believe that there are “good parts” and “bad parts” within us, and we have to w**d out the later. Ironically, this is a form of blaming that keeps us searching for someone or something to blame and sets up false conflicts.

The idea that we have something to gain by getting rid of the ego is based on misunderstanding of the ego’s actual function. Our egos are simply our awareness of ourselves as individuals. The term “ego” can be roughly equated with the term “personality”. It is that aspect of our consciousness that is connected with our survival and well-being on the physical plane.

There is nothing inherently good or bad about the ego; it is simply a fact of life, like the physical body. And without an ego we could not survive for a moment in the physical realm. So if we get rid of the ego, we have to leave our body. The attempt to suppress our ego simply deepens the split and intensifies the conflict between spirit and form.

A far less contradictory or frustrating approach, is to understand that the function of the ego is to ensure our survival as an individual with a physical form. Rather than fruitlessly attempting to annihilate our egos, we need to appreciate them for what they are in foster cooperation between ego and spirit. We can then educate our egos to the fact that opening to our spiritual essence and enhances our lives on Earth.

Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have.

It involves behaviors, thoughts, and actions that can be learned and practiced ☝🏼

People who are resilient tend to be flexible - flexible in the way they think about challenges and flexible in the way they react emotionally to stress. They are not wedded to a specific style of coping. Instead, they shift from one coping strategy to another, depending on the circumstances.

How do you think, are you resilient or not? 😊

I meet more and more people saying that ‘they can not afford to have therapy’. This is especially sad to hear from those who are aware that they do need help 😔

Some people had a look into therapies and considered that it is too expensive and there might be some who had therapy in the past and found that it does affect their budget significantly.

As a therapist I know the importance to receive help when you struggle. In some cases, therapy is the only way for a person to improve their quality of life and state of being, so let’s have a look at how therapy can be affordable!

With the standard once-a-week therapy approach, it does add up altogether. Depending on the price of the therapists it can be really expensive, in some cases even I struggle to understand how the price of such an important service can be so unreasonably high 🙈

However, if you want to make it more affordable you can also consider therapy once/2 weeks; once/3 weeks; or even once a month. The important part is consistency. Transformation is still going to happen! Frequency is the intensity of the inner work, it can be slower or faster.

Other things to consider:
✅Calculate your budget. Be clear about what you can spend on therapy. Therapy should not be at the expense of your life quality. This helps to be at peace of mind with your investment in yourself.
✅Prioritise your choices. Mental health is the base of everything and if you think that you need to do the inner work then it must be a priority.
✅Free consultations. Many therapists have this option. Use it to find out more information on how many sessions you need, etc. It will help you to structure your finances when considering therapy.
✅Talk to a therapist. As a therapists, our only focus is to help and be effective. You can always talk openly about what you can afford so the work could be structured taking into consideration your financial situation and still being an effective treatment. For example, if you can afford only one session a month your therapist might suggest some practices or methods that you can do in between sessions to deepen the inner work.
✅Buying a few sessions at a time usually works cheaper.

🔸Coping mechanisms are cognitive (cognitive approaches to coping relate to our thinking) and behavioral (behavioral approaches to coping relate to our actions) approaches that we use to manage internal and external stressors.

INTERNAL STRESSORS are thoughts and emotions that come from within us that can induce a stress response, for example:

* Fears such as failure or rejection
* Insecurities
* Negative self-talk (e.g., “I’m not good enough”)
* Creating unrealistic expectations
* Perfectionism

EXTERNAL STRESSORS provoke a stress response from outside factors and can sometimes include situations we have no control over, for example:

* Losing a loved one
* Being laid off from your job
* An upcoming exam or presentation
* Learning you have an illness
* A car accident

There is a difference between how we cope with stressors☝️🏻 Our coping strategy can be healthy or unhealthy.

Healthy Coping is utilizing a coping strategy that allows us to respond to a stressful situation in a healthy capacity. When struggling with a stressor or a challenge, healthy coping mechanisms may not instantly feel gratifying, but they can promote positive long-term change, for example:

* Talking about your problems with loved ones
* Eating well and exercising regularly
* Reaching out to a mental health professional for extra support
* Self-soothing techniques such as meditation or journaling
* Using problem-solving skills to address the situation

Unhealthy Coping, on the other hand, is employing strategies that respond to stressors in an unhealthy or harmful way. While unhealthy coping mechanisms might offer comfort instantaneously, they tend to lead to negative consequences down the road, for example:

* Procrastinating on the problem or avoiding it altogether
* Overeating or undereating, and sleeping too much or too little
* Partaking in excessive alcohol or drug usage
* Withdrawing from social situations
* Self-harm, etc

It is important to be aware of our coping mechanism as it has a direct impact on our mental health and well-being. What is your way of coping? 😊

✨Ruminating about negative and past events✨

Rumination means spinning around the same thoughts over and over and over again and analysing and analysing and analysing at the expense of taking action
🙈

Rumination drives the symptoms of anxiety, and rumination drives the symptoms of depression.

People who are ruminators have more difficulties doing the most basic things like sleeping because their brain doesn't stop. They are always thinking about their problems, always thinking about the issues, and always trying to figure out what to do next.

The idea of thinking about the problems is useful, depending on how you think about them - if you think about it but never take action you will feel worse ☝️🏻

There can be deeply rooted reasons behind the rumination, which may be better to work through with professional help. However, some things can be done by an individual alone:

* Take necessary action;
* Practice meditation; breath work; yoga; etc, - practices that help to increase focus and concentration of the mind and/or quieten the thought process;
* Try to identify the reason behind such behaviour;
* Practice ‘letting go’ and surrender approach.
* Practice ‘journaling’. Journaling helps to bring the subconscious content into our conscious awareness.

We hold 💯% accountability for what is going on in our minds. If we find it is ‘messy’ it is our responsibility to take care of it and to bring it to a clear, calm and peaceful state 🙌🏻💞

06/04/2023

We all have that one friend or a family member, or a partner that we go to talk to when we are facing difficult life situations or we feel lost or need advice or support. And it is amazing to have those people around us! There is no doubt about it. It is a blessing to have someone to turn to when we need that extra love and support 💞 considering that not everyone may even have it.

Sometimes we just need to be listened to, or understood, or sometimes we need guidance and direction. And we get it 💞 because behind our relationships with the person we talk to, there is a strong bond, mutual compassion and a wish to be there for each other ✨

Why besides a close circle of support is good to have a therapist then? If we can fulfil our needs over a cup of coffee at the moment 🤔

There is a difference between getting support from someone who loves us and someone who perceives our life experience objectively and from the point of understanding psychological factors playing in the situation or issue.

Sometimes a person who wants to help us or wishes us well may take our side in any circumstances just because they love us so much and their compassion is much stronger than questioning us or our behaviour or pointing out the truth that could be at times not comfortable to us. Because the bond is so strong, communication and solutions to a problem can be comforting and soothing. And it is amazing if that is what we need at that moment 💞

When you talk about your problems to a therapist, the situation is evaluated with a certain level of detachment. It is like not taking anyone's side, but rather seeing the situation for what it is. Also using an understanding of human psychological factors and behaviours such as coping mechanisms, defence mechanisms, self-destructive/self-sabotage behaviours, trauma-based responses, etc, the therapist helps to evaluate the situation in-depth and come up with an accurate picture of the issue, getting to the truth. Therapy is a problem-solving-based approach - it brings a clear understanding of what is happening, why and what transformation can be brought into place.

What is better?Both!Have a friend and therapist and you are sorted!💞

💫Energy Healing..💫..is one of my favourite modalities that I am working with. Why? Because it's a direct work with something greater than all of us, something very strong, very powerful. It's direct work with the universe itself and the highest consciousness which is beyond the comprehension of our minds to fully embrace or understand.

Energy healing has its ways to unfold, its laws and guidance that we follow. It's unpredictable, fascinating and very special ✨

Also, another reason I am so in love with working with energy is that I can be my truest self. As I was born, as I was my whole life, as I am designed to serve humanity while I am here 🙏🏻 We all know that our talents and abilities that we have been given are effortless when we are tuned in to it and it's very pleasurable and always enjoyable ❤️

Energy healing is something that can not be easily understood at times, however, it can be explained in a very ‘down-to-earth’ way.

For those who are interested to find out how it works and understand how and what changes it brings, you can read my article written on the topic ‘Discover Your Healing Power Through a Lens of Human Energy Field’.

You can find a link in my BIO ☝️🏻

Sending you some loving energy ✨💞
