Silicon Andhra started constructing a self-sustainable 200 beds multi-specialty Sanjivani Hospital, in an under-served area of rural Andhra Pradesh, India. This rural area lacks access to a well-equipped health facility despite the strong prevalence of malaria, typhoid, diabetes and cardiac issues as well as high infant mortality rates. Sanjivani Hospital aims to serve and support this part of rural Indian community by providing quality healthcare in a not-for-profit mode.

During the last year itself, the Out Patient (OP) Department served 15,762 patients and 2421 patients were taken care in Emergency Room (24/7). More than 20 lives were saved from critical cases of accidents and snake bites to poison consumption.

We would like to start In Patient (IP) services very soon in early 2020 after procuring all the necessary medical equipment and hiring the doctors and other personnel. Our first move will be for the Women & Child Care (Gynecology & Pediatrics) departments. Every dollar that you donate to Sanjivani would be a gift of life to people in need! We sincerely appeal to you to donate generously in this holiday giving season and help save some lives! Please spread the word with your family, friends and relatives. Thank you very much for your support and stay safe!

๐€๐ง๐ง๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ: Thereโ€™s always time to volunteer, even on 's annual day! Annual day was a fairly important day for all of us; between the performances, parades, and keynote speakers we found a perfect way to raise some money selling drinks to harried attendees. That evening, towards the end of the event, our quaint little group was presented with the Presidential Volunteer award, and were asked to speak a few words about it. Between all the beautiful dresses, inspiring speeches, and the opportunity to speak my heart in front of such a large crowd, the evening truly was an amazing experience.

Every Sunday morning, a different group of us headed to the market to sell things to people around the square. The more important thing, however, was the way we spread word about the cause to everyone we encountered. This not only gained us a good many donations, but also more people who were sympathetic and aware of our cause. We ourselves gained more skills, like the ability to speak with strangers on the spot, or to brace ourselves for a harsh rejection. One we baked cookies, another time we brought in vegetables from our gardens; in fact, we even potted a bunch of small plants and sold them! From these small experiences we were able to glean over $600.

๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐‘๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐š๐ฆ: In March of 2018, we put together a charity show called the Disney Ramayana to finish the construction of the Sanjivani Hospital in Kuchipudi, India. When we first began in 2017, we thought โ€˜What would we do? Weโ€™re only a small group of students who hadnโ€™t ever done anything of this sortโ€™, but slowly it all came together. We knew we wanted a show, so we decided on a play that combined not only classic stories that anyone would know but also our own culture. We definitely had a few great singers, so we started rehearsing musical numbers. For those of us who were more powerful speakers, we put our feelings into words. By the time the show unfolded at a local church we booked, we had a huge group of fellow students drawn by the opportunity to help the cause, as well as other parents and mentors to support us along the way. In total, we were able to raise a little over five thousand dollars.

๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐š๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž: According to Hindu mythology, there is a mountain called Sanjeevani containing a plethora of plants that can cure nearly any wound or disease. In the Hindu Ramayana, the demigod Hanuman once carried the entire mountain in Ramaโ€™s hour of need when his brother was struck with a fatal arrow. Our mission is the same- to be able to lend a helping hand in the hour of need of the people. So, our first project is to construct and fully equip a hospital named after this mountain in Kuchipudi, India- the birthplace of the popular dance style of the same name- to do just that.
