Ashwagandha is one of the oldest herbs in existence. It is considered the king of the plant kingdom, this herb has been used for thousands of years in ancient practices to treat the immune system, boost energy levels, and even combat stress in the body.
1. Supports the immune system
The first benefit of using Ashwagandha is that it is good for building and strengthening the immune system. This is thanks to its powerful antioxidant properties that help to encourage the production of white blood cells in your body for a stronger defense against illness. Ashwagandha has natural anti-inflammatory properties, which aids in reducing inflammation, such as in arthritis or sore joints.
Trust us, there’s a reason that this plant has often been called rayasana, which translates to “the plant that rejuvenates” in Ayurveda, and that’s because this herb is truly healing beyond belief. So say good-bye to the pains of aging, because Ashwagandha has definitely got you covered.
2. Eases tension and stress
Ashwagandha is also believed to be able to help calm your nerves and ease stress. This is thanks to its’ natural sedative properties, which help calm the heart rate and blood pressure, releasing tension in your body and putting you in a calm and meditative state of mind. It’s basically like going to therapy but without the trip or the bill.
3. Increases your energy
Lastly, Ashwagandha is the perfect partner for a workout, as it can help to improve your athletic performance significantly. This is because this powerful plant has been thought to improve heart and lung functionality. This makes it excellent for those who love being active, but also for those that may struggle with fatigue as an everyday norm. Who knew an herb could do so much, right?
However, it is important to note that if you are pregnant or nursing, you should not take Ashwagandha in large amounts, as it can cause pregnancy complications. It is best to consult your doctor about the proper dosage beforehand.
Spiritual Uses
Ashwagandha holds many incredible health benefits, but it holds just as many spiritually. Spiritually, Ashwagandha, has often been referred to as the Elixir of Life, as it is believed to help balance your Chi and align your chakra energy.
In conclusion, Ashwagandha is a powerful herb perfect for many uses. Whether you’re looking for physical healing, chakra balance, or even a stronger immune system, just know that Ashwagandha has got your back through thick and thin!
