It’s all about choice

I chose to turn the page.

My brother’s voice muttered from heaven “about f**king time!” (Not all guardian angels whisper sweetly.)

Anyhoos, it was about f**king time. I’d argued with the negative voice in my head (which we call the script). “It’ll be different this time. I’ve grown. I’ve learned.”

And like Groundhog Day, I relived the same chapter. The characters changed. A new face. A new accent. But intrinsically, one replaced another. And I had a repeat on my hands.

Until I changed. And that Dearheart is how you turn the page.

I had to change. No one else could do it for me. I had to let go of living in my head. The script. And began living from my heart. ❀

The other words my brother speaks to me in times of distress “hold on tightly, let go lightly.” I now hold myself tightly and let go of others lightly.

It used to be the other way around. Sigh


So go ahead and turn the page.

Health and well-being. Yoga isn’t just a physical thing. The word Yoga comes from Sanskrit and means ‘union.’

Body, mind, emotions and spirit!

Boundary setting is not for the weak.

I watched a friend deal with her discomfort recently and felt so proud of her. It looked like every single cell in her body was screaming!

But she threw back her shoulders and walked on.

In a nutshell, she put her own mental and emotional health first and let someone else deal with an uncomfortable situation.

It’s easy to say ‘won’t do that again.’ But habits are hard to change. There’s a negative voice in our head that challenges change. Us rescuers and fixers are particularly susceptible.

So, dearheart, Pat yourself on the back. Throw back your shoulders. And recognise that settings boundaries is not for the weak.

Be you, the wonderful you. The world needs you as you are. Consciously create compassion. Begin with you!

Don’t you find there’s something magical about the pause between Christmas and New Year?

After the busy-ness of planning, prepping and partying there comes a a beautiful stillness. Choosing to bask in the peace, I’m moving gently through my days.

Some people are rushing their thoughts forward to New Year’s Eve. What are you doing? Where are you going?

I don’t know. And I’m loving đŸ„° it!

Today I’m still in tea and biscuit mode. Enjoying my journal, books and music. Lighting candles. Reading tarot and oracles. Incense scenting the air. My yoga mat beckons


I don’t rush to take the Christmas decorations down. I’m still enjoying them.

I’m choosing contentment. Yes, there’s highs and lows. But just for today I’m choosing to be content. 😌

Kindness costs nothing

The airport was jam-packed. I’d found a place to sit and wait as I read a book. Then I looked up


A rather travel weary looking gentleman was asking a young woman if the seat next to her was available. She said ‘no, I’m holding it for a friend.’

So, I waved him over. And said ‘I’ll squeeze up and you can sit next to me.’ Seriously, there was plenty of room.

He told me he was in transit and had a 9 or 10 hour wait for his next flight. And needed to sit and eat something.

I smiled as he tore into his panini, noticing he’d also purchased a salad for later.

And I also noticed, the next time someone asked the young woman, she said ‘you may sit here until my friend arrives.’

When the gate was announced, I smiled and said ‘goodbye’ to the traveller. And his eyes filled with tears. ‘Oh, are you going now?’ I again smiled and wished him a pleasant journey.

You never know what’s happening in people’s lives. A good reason to offer some kindness. Treat others as you’d wish to be treated. Isn’t there a spiritual leader who encouraged that? I believe we’ll be celebrating his birthday soon.

Anyhoos, choose kindness and make today a lovely one.

Hold on tightly, let go lightly. The hardest part of any health and wellbeing practice is when we choose to make changes.

The subconscious mind and the reptilian part of the brain fight the conscious mind.

We support you in making the gentle changes that lead to permanent results.

So, perhaps as we come to the end of the year, as we begin to reflect. Have we achieved our goals? Did we make our resolutions into reality? It's time to reflect.

Give yourself a hug and a pat on the back. See the small successes and applaud yourself.

And begin thinking about your health and wellbeing. What do you want to achieve next? You've got this!

Permission granted to find it difficult to make changes. Celebrate each step towards a healthier you. And forgive yourself for not being perfect.

The hardest asana is 'letting go.'
