đź’™Back To Basicsđź’™
There will be a time in your journey when you feel like you FINALLY have it all figured out. Then suddenly something will happen that causes everything to go haywire. It might be sickness, growth, hormones, a new sport, change in weather or 1 million other things.
When this happens, remove as many variables as possible and go back to basics.
Stick with very simple low carb meals that you are confident in dosing. It’s not the time to try out a new food!!
Treat lows with precise amounts of glucose only! Using food for lows will add to the madness.
When adjusting dosing, make one change at a time. Do not change basal & meal dosing all at once! This will make it easier to determine if your issue is basal or meal dosing.
If looping & you get stuck on a rollercoaster, get to 0 IOB and open loop (turn loop off). For me, this clears the playing field and I can determine which piece of the puzzle is the issue. I’m pretty confident in meal dosing so this really helps me see what basal is doing without the help of loop. If basal seems good without loop on then I know the issue is another setting (ISF). If she is having wacky rises or drops with loop off, basal is the issue.
I hope this helps! đź’™
