Full Moon in Sagittarius:
The full moon on June 11th is known to the Native Americans as the Strawberry Moon, because of the ripe strawberries that were available to pick, but that’s not the name of the Celtic moon here on the British Isles and across Europe. Celtic cultures provided poetic names like the Horse Moon, Dyan Moon, and Rose Moon. In English folklore, it was called the Flower Moon, Planting Moon, or Mead Moon.
The moon will be low in the sky, because the sun is nearly at it’s highest point of the year, the moon picks up the change in atmosphere around the earth and is the last of the Spring moons, as astronomically we move into Summer on the 21st of June.
What does this moon bring?
The moon brings some fabulous energies of release and let go – shed anything that no longer serves you. This could be long term, but may also be something short term too. Not all the things we need to shed have been hanging around like a bad smell for months or years.
Sagittarians are the eternal student, constantly studying or looking something up on the internet, so many subjects spark their interest to the point they will study a subject until they have wrung it out like a wet rag, deeply focussed on the whole process, and then move onto something else. Sagittarians will also see boredom as death, to be a bored Sagittarian is the worst thing ever!
Sagittarians are also striving for another goal, and they will take leaps of faith into the unknown and trust the process.
So, this moon tap into the energies of Sagittarius to:
1…become aware of any rut you are living in, have you got complacent, do you need to make some changes to your lifestyle, but fear is holding you back – face that fear head on and trust the process.
2…shed anything that doesn’t serve you.
3…if you have worries about the future or feel out of control and your energy is waning, then bring yourself back to the present moment and allow the energies of Sagittarius to carry you forward. This may seem like a challenge, but it’s worth it!
4…Sagittarius energy is high, constantly on the move, there is no sitting about, so tap into that energy if you want to get something done.
5…if taking huge steps to something new isn’t what you feel you can do, then take small steps one at a time….
Let the moon illuminate your path, connect with that powerful energy and face any fears you have for change or transformation as you walk into the new energies of Summer on 21st of June.
Life doesn’t have to be perfect, what ever the experience we will learn from it. Challenges are just that, they are part of the adventure of being human. Each full moon brings around a change in your life and you can move in any direction you choose – just keep moving forward!
