Unleash the beast 🙌

Getting down and moving like an animal is one of the best things we humans can do to improve our functional ability.

As babies , most of us learn to crawl …we sit hunkered down with our hips between our feet, we learn to support our own bodyweight and move through amazing ranges of motion.

In childhood , most of us run , jump , hang from bars , push our limits.. move in lots of different ways and through different planes of motion … those born with challenging physical differences and disabilities constantly inspire and humble us with that innate ability to push our abilities and find ways to move and function .

As we progress into youth and adulthood, many of us gradually move less and the movement we do have becomes much less exciting !!!

Putting crawling , animal type movements into our workouts reconnects us with that inner child and at the same time is one of the most effective ways to build , flexibility , agility, strength and coordination. All things that translate directly into our work in the gym or on classes .

Right heed-the-baw, it’s hump day and you’re already thinking about giving in on those lifestyle changes you said you’d start on Monday about 3 weeks ago, aren’t you?

DO NOT GIVE UP ❌

If you’re struggling to curb cravings then set calories aside for whatever it is – cake, biscuits, sugary tea, we don’t care!! As long as you are still in a calorie deficit, it doesn’t really matter.

Eating celery and nothing else will just make you give up, crabbit, and ultimately fatter than before when you binge eat 💩 (which you definitely will)

Veggie recipe ….one of those eh what can I make from that moments .😂🙈delicious!!!Make a paste with stock cube / coconut ...

Veggie recipe ….one of those eh what can I make from that moments .😂🙈delicious!!!

Make a paste with stock cube / coconut oil / garlic / cumin and chilli flakes….mix with a little water to make a smooth thick consistency.

Heat gently and quickly add rinsed chickpeas and corn and the peppers. Sprinkle over a few red lentils.
In a screw top jar or shaker mix 1tsp Mayo with a cup of water . Shake it up and pour in. Add up to another cup of water if required.
Bring to the boil and simmer for around 15 mins
Microwave your rice and enjoy 🙌🙌🙌

Changing your perspective on your situation is more powerful than anything!!! You can’t change your situation unless you look at things differently . Instead of saying … I can’t go to the gym / classes until I’m a bit fitter ….say ….if I take the first step and go to the gym I will be fitter than I was yesterday!!

We are so fortunate in Ayr to have some great personal trainers 💪🙌. People who love what they do and who care about helping people live life to the full.

Why do I do what I do...?

Why did I choose personal training as a career? What makes me want to help people?

I chose personal training because my fitness and training are pillars of my lifestyle, I love pushing myself harder than last time in a training session, I love seeing the tiny minut microchanges that might seem like nothing to others but is a huge win for me! I've had many jobs in my lifetime, but this is my chosen career because I feel I have the knowledge, the patience, the attitude and the complete devotion to help others learn and grow to become better versions of themselves.

What makes me want to help people is the fact that I've been where most of you have been, or still are, whether that's struggling to put weight on yes, I've been the skinny guy with no muscle, no definition, no endurance or strength....

I've also...

Been the overweight guy who had really high bodyfat levels, struggled to walk far without needing a break, ate s**t food 3-4 times a day, didn't keep an eye on my diet, didn't exercise and just totally let myself go...

I've been in horrible situations where I hated how I looked, I hated how I felt and that was my motivation for change to how I am today.

I want to help you get to where you want to be, I want to help you become that better version of yourself, I want to help you fall in love with training just like I have and enjoy your life again, enjoy being in your own skin, feel good about wearing the clothes you want to wear, go out to restaurants and not have to worry about "oh I can't have that"

I've been where you've been, I've been where you are, and I can help you get to where you want to be, all you have to do is ask for that help.

My goal this year is to help as many people as I possibly fu***ng can, whether that's through information, help with training, making videos, 1-1 training sessions whatever it takes, but I'm smashing that fu***ng goal!
